Depends how many other people the people reading your blog are also clicking on.  (Bet that clears it right up, huh?)

I clicked on my daughter's blog, which has no posts yet, so I could add it to my favorites...that one click seems to have been worth .05 so far.  On the other hand, when I was reading half the blogs posted (back when I was chained to that cubicle) my clicks wouldn't have been worth enough to register anything.

Yes I think the earnings have slowed here too.
It takes about three times longer now to earn anything. If I put it on a spreadsheet I would probably quit so it's best I don't. However it does make me wonder about the financial reporting here. It is not transparent.

I would say...

that whether you pay taxes on your earnings or not is entirely up to your own conscience. I do include my earnings in my annual gross income reported, but it usually doesn't make too much difference.

I THINK (and talk to a CPA before you go acting on this) that you could also claim it as hobby income and use a net amount reflecting your earnings less whatever your membership cost is. So if you are paying $12 a month, that's $144 a year in costs. If you made $10 a month, that's $120 earned, less $144 costs, leaves a "negative income." I don't know how THAT would affect your taxable bottom line, but an accountant would. If you were someone awesome like Ariala, and you were paying your $12 a month and earning $100 a month, then you would only have to claim ($1200 - $144) or $1056 in income from Blogit.

Again, CHECK WITH A CPA before you try to implement any of this stuff.

Yeah, lately I have been seeing my ranking go up
and my earnings diminish. I can only assume that this means there are half a dozen readers who read everything, and they click on mine a lot. The ones who don't read much never click on me.   So I'm not in this for the money....

Hi.. I can't be of any help on this topic, I am also confused on how it works. I was wondering if we had to pay taxes on our earnings.

That is odd ...

Of course, the money one makes here is so nominal, anyway.

For instance, I was ranked #2 overall for 2 months straight (before taking my birthday weekend off) and yet, my entire earnings to date wouldn't cover a single therapy session.

So, I don't even pay attention to my daily blogging income anymore.
