- Go to What's The Problem? Just Sit Down And Write It
FactorFiction, thank you. For my sins.............
the one gift I have is the ability to write as if I know about a topic. That of course comes down to having the ability of knowing how much research to do. I always make sure I have more than enough info. I feel too vulnerable otherwise. When I say for my sins.......... I say this because this process is not without pain.
I learn all that I need and more and then forget it almost as quickly

Well, speaking as a critical reader....

I could tell when someone was writing about something she researched vs. something she "knew" vs. something she did not really put the effort into... When I could tell that the person really researched it and tried, it did not bother me much to find a line that I found a little inaccurate. But when I read something that was inaccuracies strewn together to make it LOOK like the writer knew the topic, it really chafed

I know you would
never let it come to that even if you only had 3 hours left!

I would be freaking out Azur. Even when I have no interest in writing about a process, I must know everything about it. I don't know how you do it. I would be convinced that readers would realize I was a fraud

Over-analyzing has been my fatal mistake in many aspects of my life.
Once I go with the flow, my life goes smoothly.

Azur,
I believe you have the talent, for sure. Just always LISTEN TO YOUR GUT. If something doesn't "seem" right, fix it. If it does, go with it. With that, you'll always be okay.

Axur--- I have no fear either. In fact, it's exhilarating for me to learn
and then share what I've learned with others.

Azur,
Do let us know how it turns out. One thing is for sure, you must have a great sense of achievement when you manage to do something like that.

There's always someone who will say you "got it wrong".
DUe to different perceptions, vested interest, or, like me, sheer contrariness.

I had agreed to
help a friend research and write a research paper but boy do I regret it now - It's a subject I know little about. I sympathise - it is difficult to just sit down and write when you have to be absolutely accurate.

Yes he is. Write it first. Craft it afterwards.

Azur--I'm having the same issue lately. It's frustrating, frightening,
and extraordinarily thrilling all at the same time. Just hard to get started...
