Burly and Gome, excellent comments.
Gomedome, I think you are definitely correct in your observation, atlhough of course that's just my opinion and, as typical of religions, is difficult to prove!

Burly - but that's just the beginning of the unfair part
I am convinced that if there is in fact a heaven, many people that claim to be believers (present company excepted of course) could not possibly get in because of their behaviour in this life. Just imagine the looks on their faces when ol St. Peter nods in my direction to pass through the pearly gates. Now that would be the definition of unfair.

Gomedome
I'm a believer, you're not. But the Lord loves you just as much as me and that's not fair!

Xeno-x - we've seen this phenomena a fair bit around here
One recently departed blogger used to outline on a routine basis, the character deficiciencies in those who did not believe as she did. One day she attempted to take me to taks for some of the things that I write in this post, I pointed out to her that my perspective was really no different from hers, only the converse. The reply I received basically said that when in the service of God it's okay to disparage those who do not believe in him but it is never okay to disparage believers? That's a great one way deal if you can get it.
