actually corbin_dallas

think of what this younger generaton watches --

the movies they see

like AMERICAN PIE

now that's a really thoughtful "piece" if every I saw one.

check out the commercials -- if those are the people who are supposed to be building our nations, then we are in deep doo doo.

Anheuser Busch dropped the Frogs and ferrets ads for what?  -- "all hail magical fridge!" --

these are the conservatives of today.  those who post here on blogit are very much like the ones I know -- blind loyalty and acceptance without question.

this is a root of despotic government.

kooka_lives - Good post and good rejoinder to Corbin. As an aside...
... Bush stated he was NOT into nation-building when he was campaigning for office. Oops - just one more lie he has told the world. - Corbin - are you attempting to become the rudest blogger on Blogit? If so, you're well on your way to that dubious position.

Corbin

You just proved so many of my points for me.

First off at no point did I claim to 'know' what was best for America.  In my title I clearly say 'learning', which is not the same as knowing..  I do know that Bush and the conservative mentality is not doing what is best for this country.  Anyone should be able to learn that.

You then say very openly that all you care about is what is best for yourself.  You have made it clear in the past and right here that in your mind as long as you are doing well, then no one should be complaining.  Your personal gain here is now is all you are concerned with.  You do not care about the future, the big picture or the needs of the greater good.

As for the sitcom thing, that was when I was twelve.  I have grown since thing, which was my point.  I feel much of our population has not, and so you belief that 60% of the population is conservative is in my mind based off the simple fact that a good deal of them picked such thinking off of a sitcom and have not grown beyond that.  Was that too hard of a concept for you to understand?  It was a direct stab at saying that many who say they are conservatives know nothing at al about what conservatives really are all about and if they were to grow and become better informed they would change their political views.

You personal opinions about T.V. and video games seem somewhat irrelevant to this in the end and once more only help to back up my points.  And just for the record, since it seems to have meaning for you, I play some video games here and there on my P.C.  I find they are good to relieve stress and stimulate the mind, since they take more thinking than the average Conservative is able to do in order to play them. Now that was called being sarcastic, I hope you can grasp that.

Then in your final sentence you make no sense.  What does being attacked have to do with this post. I barely talked about 9/11 and I said I defended Bush’s actions then, as did everyone I know of.  We went to Afghanistan and went after those who attacked us.  I know of not as ingle person who was not behind that action.

Right now part of the real problem with Iraq is that the Conservatives feel they know what is best for them and are forcing it on them.  You side seems more concerned with forcing another country to become something like America, no matter what, than trying to fix the problems here at home and focus on doing what is right and what is going to be best for the future of our own country.  I can tell you that going into Iraq was far from being what was best for us and due to how it was done it was far from being what was best for them.  Provoking the Middle East to start World War 3 is not helping anyone at all and that is very clearly what Bush is trying for right now.

HOW I BECAME A LIBERAL/LEARNING ABOUT WHAT IS BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY

Yep...you're truely a liberal.......you feel you know what's best for all Americans...me, I prefer to determine what's best for myself....

You based your beginning thought process on a sitcom.....a true product of the vast wasteland........are you into video games, too?

Would you also roll over and play dead when attacked?  Or would you show an enemy what's best for them, too?  LOL
