Though when you took his class, did he seem funny? My brother once attended a CAP encampment and met a relative of his, and the relative said he isn't actually that funny. His writings sure are though.

Odd you mention it, I took a writing course from Patrick McManus back in 1972 or so, only I didn't know who he was at the time, he never had us read any of his work. To show you how smart I was, I dropped out. What could have been.

cool story. I've always liked stories like this where history is made in a comical slightly untrue way. I was wondering, have you ever read any works of Patrick McManus? His stuff his hilarious, and he has a story about the history of using worms as fishing bait. Your story reminded me of it. Great stuff.
