Comments on Should I Get ECT?

There is a lot of stuff on the internet on this subject...

Read read read as much as you can on the subject.  I take Wellbutrin and it seems to help a lot.  Still though I do rely on diazapam when things get real bad.  I use it sparingly cause well I do not want to be come dependent on anything... But sometimes I have thank goodgoodgoodness for the sweet relief I find with it.  Sometimes people need to take 2 different kinds of anti-depressants together... One type that works on seratonin working with another type that works on dopamine for example...

Best to you and hang in there.  I know that hellish place, know that you are not alone...

I don't know much about ECT
but it scares me.  I'm sure it has advanced over the years, but if you can get another opinion, that would be great.  Please be careful with the Lexapro; one of my daughters had it, I believe, and had a really bad time both with it and coming off of it.  Same for Celexa.  I agree about researching some natural cures, but I wouldn't want you to go off the meds if that creates problems, too.  Just, please, be very careful with all of this.  Take care.

Hello Jeff,
I think you should consult another doctor (psychiatrist) before you take a decision. As far as  I know this method is much safer now than 20 years ago, if the doctors see no other solution, maybe you should try... Take care

Jeff.. I came by to see how you are doing and I do not have sufficient knowledge to give my opinion on the subject. Have you tried changing your diet? Much research has been done on Fish oil and other foods for depression. Take Care!
