Being surrounded by love - the best way to protect one's self. Thanks for stopping by.

I think you are right. The scary thing is, they may never mature spiritually, but move from being a suicide bomber to teaching others.

Thanks for the kind word. And I do think that everyone needs a teacher when they are ready to move to the next level of spiritual maturity. Now, I don't think it needs to be someone one follows, or meets with, or who is even alive. A teacher can be one whose books are read by a student. But I think one needs direction to move to the next level - because the closer one gets to nonduality, the more dangerous the journey becomes.

I feel like God's love
surrounds me 24 hours a day, and so I try to do what's right so as not to put a dent in my sense of spirituality.

I think this is why so many suicide bombers,
abortion clinic bombers, and other religious "activists" are young adults.  They are not yet spiritually mature and easily manipulated by people who are mature, but also evil.

hiii..
you have put up the explanation very nicely so that anyone can understand it...i really like the way you write about simple & straight...& the subjects are always very close to life & spirituality....i think to get spirirtually aware the first thing is to have a keen desire to walk this path & then the second step is to see yourself thru every action & thought...Introspection gives you all the answers but only if you are neutral to everything.....do you think one needs a teacher..i think some people do..& some dont.....

Sannhet, a precious analogy is this. I interpret as "taking yourself

with you". I think of a Zen story where a master asks a student to empty a basket. He asks the pupil "What is in the basket?"

-"Nothing." replies the pupil.

The master says "Good. Now take it with you."

The internal validation-That's where the maturation process
takes place.  For until we are sure of what IS internally, from the heart if you will, we are at the mercy of others who may manipulate or try to influence us as to what we should internalize.  The Spirit is always ready to respond; and It will when and if WE are ready to truly listen and surrender.
