The do tend to spit when agitated, Penguin.
One of them hissed at my boyfriend, but no mucous was exchanged.

aren't llamas fun?
I once went to a animal park like that I think I remember them spitting at us, but it was so long ago thats probably just my imagination due to racial profiling, though I don't know if talking about llamas is really racial.

I appreciate your saying so, Vangelina ...
And yes, that sounds very much like our cat.
P.S. Get well soon.

It has been my experience, shellyb ...
that zoo animals tend to be more active in the evenings (close to closing time).

Actually, Mason, it's my mother who takes most of the pet photos ...
and she should be better, seeing as she's a photographer.

Not sure, fourcats ...
my mother guesses approximately 75 different species (counting each type of monkey and bird separately).

But we're members of every Zoo within driving distance ... plus one of my friends is a reptile keeper, so ...

Hi there
Lol, I love reading your blogs. And thanks for reading my blog. The R is like your Dollar. Here it means Rand. And if I had to come ove to America and exchange Rands for Dollars, I get less money, as the Rand is weak against the Dollar right now. Actually, I think it's not too bad at the moment, but a few days ago was not looking so good. In 1999 when we first came over it was excellent, but in 2003 it was not good, the first time was R6 to the Dollar the second time it was R8,58 or something. A nightmare for us. So actually it is good now. I have come down with a rotten cold because of the damn change of weather, gone from hot as hell to winter in one day flat basically and now flu season, and my brain has gone numb and I can't think straight, and can't write. Will be up and running soon. Love your blogs. Will be back soon, promise, V. Oh yes, the kitten, Diego, did just what you said your does, I was going down the stairs to the bedroom, and there he was, laying in wait, but I saw him out the corner of my eye, as he pounced and gripped my ankle and clung for dear life, as I took that one step down, I grabbed the railing to prevent myself from going completely down and had to prevent myself from standing on him, and all the while he just clung on teeth and all to my P.J. pants, thinking we were playing. Arrghh!!

I love the pics! I hate when I try to get good pics of the animals and all they do is sleeep.

They could be feeling trapped and jumping furiously in vain to leap over the fence. Lol.
