There's a nature food store in the city I work in. I think I'll go check them out. I was thinking of growing my own herbs. I was looking at seeds yesterday, but I might also look at plants to purchase, as you did. Thanks a lot for the tip.

Avant....

I just saw your question to me regarding an reputable herbalist, sorry I took so long to respond. Do you have a Whole Foods, Wild Oats, or a good health food store where you live?  If so, they would have an assortment of herbs and homeopathic remedies to choose from.  I choose only organically grown herbs (most are anyway).  As for web-sites there are many of them to choose from also. I grow an assortment of fresh herbs in the summer when I can and I get the small plants from a local nursery. As for dietary supplements, always choose natural.  I used to work for NatureMade Vitamins and they are good quality supplements, but there are many others too. I hope this helps, if you need more info let me know.

Hmm, Avant-Garde,
It has a nice aroma!  Thank you. I'll put that in the pot and let it simmer.    I'll keep working on it and meditating. "Essence" came to mind, too, but I think it's already a magazine.  Anyway, if you

I kind of have a feel for your energy. I'll see if I can come up with one that you might like.

Avant-Garde,

I'm afraid this is one instance where words don't erase the confusion, but I'm willing to live with that!  I'm not terribly bothered by the fact that I cannot picture which way is "horizontal" in the sky!

As for no one understanding your vocabulary, well, I still love words for the sound and nuance of them.  I'll bet you've gained a lot from your study.  I'm looking for a word that is new and fresh to my vocabulary to transform my blog identity. So many words are so ancient they've developed a massive amount of baggage, pro and con.

It's an astronomical term for finding locations in the sky. It mostly means a point on the horizon. Thank you for taking an interest in this work.

There was a time when I studied the dictionary to widen my vocabulary. The problem I developed was that I got so far into it that no one who read my writing could understand it.

Avant-Garde,

Azimuth: 1. The horizontal angular distance from a reference direction, usually the northern point of the horizon, to the point where a vertical circle through a celestial body intersects the horizon, usually measured clockwise. Sometimes the southern point is used as the reference direction, and the measurement is made clockwise through 360°

I had to look that one up and I'm still not sure I fully understand it, but it's a neat word.   Your post reminded me of another word I learned ysterday: "Nyx", the Greek concept or deity of night, which gives rise to confusion and darkness.  Too often night I dread the night as a time of confusion and darkness, when reference points disappeear but it's also a time of rejuvenation.  You're right, what seems strange is merely unfamiliar

I'm studying words, looking up references because I feel a need for a change in identity, new birth for new songs.  I hope to find a new name.

What I find fascinating is that everyone is at his/her own level of understanding, and will process the information at that level. Sometimes, people write things about my work that is truly original. But, it's not the message as much as how it is processed.

I think we think alike, which is why it is so easy for me to process what you write.

hiii..

seemingly strange is the unacquainted..so true we find things strange when we dont know them...and we find them stranger when we know them completely..its the inbetween thats either real or illusion...

very nice post...and you know what Avant you are the only one who understood my poem the way i had written it...thanks.

Yes, just the mere acceptance of what is there transforms it into what it is not- revealing its true purpose.
