People like me have to balance things out against people like you.
I think Mr. Conyers has been caught with his pants down. We have all the goods on him. All it would take is the Congress to stand up and do their job. He did what he did out of greed and factors such as that. That's very terrible in my book. If he were trying to defend this great land, like our President, then I could live with that. Mr. Conyer's transgressions should land him on the street.

He’s a politician after all
You know that if a conservative were in that position you would defend the guy as if it was just an attack by the Liberals on him. In fact that is what you and other conservatives have done each and every time.
I and most liberals I know do just defend politician because they are on ‘our side’ although I have some serious issue swathe the democrats, whoa re barely better than the republicans. While this is clearly the conservative looking to get the public upset at the democrats, since they are afraid as it gets about the up coming elections in which there is no doubt at all that the Democrats are going to win seats in both houses and most likely get the majority back, I still am not going to defend the guy just because he is a liberal. If he did it, then he is no better than Delay and any other politician who felt they were above the rules.
Get over yourself and stop being a hypocrite. Just because they are in your party they must all be victims and if they are not in your party they must be as guilty as hell.
Gotta love the conservative egos.
