Gome, this Bible thumper is still in the blogit business, just busy --
too busy to be arguing with you at the moment. Besides, currently I have a greater desire to study the Bible (in spite of all its supposed holes and errors) than to argue with you. But carry on, my dear, for your blogs always make for a very entertaining read.

Xeno-x - there have been a few in days past but none recently
. . .though that can change in a hurry. We could be treated to "Darwin's Relativity Theory" again at any time.

FARSAILOR - thank you -- as far as God being a woman, why not?
It is only because God was created in a time of patriarchal societies that the masculine is traditionally implied. A genderless God would make more sense, it might also explain why we never hear about his girlfriends?

JasonScyte - your interpretation is as good as the traditional one
I hear people rattle off how an all powerful and all knowing God sacrificed his only son for our sins and I don't know what to say to them. Surely an all powerful and all knowing God could have figured out a better way than that? Not to mention the timing. 30-40 million people inhabited the entire earth at the time, tops. Then we have the issue of the effectiveness of this sacrifice, the cold hard truth is that it didn't work. To me this all adds up to one big poorly constructed whopper. Your interpration is far superior to this.

yeah i'm disappointed too
no name calling
no spouting invalidities with no supporting evidence
no attempts to "save" and "convert" you.
we're getting really boring here.
but there's still the political conservatives.
they can be very entertaining.

SALUTE
Individual belief should be just that, individual. Personnally, I prefer to think of God as woman, because no man could ever screw the universe up so badly. On the other hand, if God were indeed a woman, I suspect the universe would be a much kinder and gentler place to be.... Ah, like most theological discussions, a start with nothing, ending with a negative proof...
Outstanding Blog, you are to commended.

A Bible Thumper
I'm a Bible thumper in a sense because I believe the book is full of wisdom. I'm a Christian but a bit eccentric since I believe Jesus was an alien who ascended into a space ship after his resurrection. However, I don't need to be preached to. I've heard the gospel all my life, and I've been baptised twice. How many times does it take until you're saved.?
Finally, the Bible doesn't teach manking how to live together. It teaches that all races of men are headed straight for chaos and destruction. Watch Jack Van Impe some time. He preaches the sinners are going to hell in a handbasket with a big grin on his face. A goiod Christian wants to see sinners pay up the ass. A good Christian is happy things are deteriorating in the world. They want to see violence and destruction because they will be taken up on a sheet a glass and get to watch the rest of us burn.
