Avant

I too am glad to have tasted the gifts of insight and beauty that you have shared. I have actually sent you an email twice but it has bounced back both times, the Blogit email system is sometimes pretty dodgy. To cut it short, I was sending you gratitude for all the ongoing support, encouragement, feedback and inspiration you have given me over these months. It is also nice to have kinship with some of the male bloggers since there are so many women on Blogit.

I feel I've developed as a writer and a person through writing these articles and much of it has to do with the reflections I get back. I do plan to send these off to a publisher, but probably not until next year, I still have a bit of organising / editing to do.

What you say goes a long way and I hope we will be corresponding for a while to come.

Have a wonderful Easter with family and friends.

James.

I care without possessing

Your conclusion brings me memories of a time I just experienced.  I refer to the recent Bonnie Raitt song "I Will Not Be Broken."
"You can hold me down, but you can't hold what's within
I will not be broken
I will not be...
Someone other than who I am
I will fight to make my stand
Cause what is livin' if I can't live free
What is freedom if I can't be me"

Thanks for another enlightening post.

I agree, Avant-Garde,
I can honestly say I have no regrets in my life:  stripping away the inessential may come at a price, but the freedom it brings is well worth it.

I would daresay that the expectancy will precipitate its arrival. It's happened to me many times before.

Being centered is the most rational goal one could reach in a lifetime.

personal transformation
yes - absolutely - why do i get the feeling that if we all underwent personal transformation, we would all share the same basic ideas about order and lawfulness, and we would all know power - how to enjoy it, and how to share it...

god, today is one of these days were i feel like i'm holding my breath, and praying for a BIG miracle!

The center of being
The center of being for me is not to react while the core of my being is under attack. JasonScyte

Avant-Garde,
I strive for equilibrium, too: centering myself within the wind by grasping the eternal inside, so that no matter what happens, whatever anyone says, I come back to center.  It's a goal anyway.

A spiritually powerful

and intellectually provocative post. You identify important lines of distinction and discernment that many would do well to meditate upon.

I bend
without yielding reminded me of a piece of Japanese advice that we should bend with the wind but never forget where our roots are. Lovely piece as always!
