The ranking is based on the number of unique readers each day for the past seven days. So you would be counted as being a unique reader on each of the three days you read that particular blog.

I'm lost a little.
I understand the mechanism for sorting out poeple who click multiple times on a blog , but sine the stats are tobulated weekly, does that mean that if I should read a blog thric in a week (Mon, Wed, Saturday)that it gets coulnted once towards ranking and payoff?

Yes, the ranking shown on each member profile next to the name of that member's blog(s) is based on the number of unique readers each day for the past seven days. This is the overall ranking out of tens of thousands of blogs on Blogit and not the ranking within a particular category.
"Unique readers" means that no matter how often someone reads a blog, they are only counted once when the rankings are calculated. The purpose is to ensure fair rankings by allowing each person to only "vote" once.
Since the rankings are calculated over seven days, even four days is not necessarily sufficient to change a blog's ranking. The calculation favors consistency over single-day popularity. Sometimes, readers are still interested in an older entry or an entry by a former member that can still be viewed.
The ranking within a category is based on the overall rankings but ranks only the blogs in that specific category. So while your blog is ranked overall at 220th most popular on Sunday at 4:30 pm Blogit Time, it is the 35th most popular blog in the category, Everything Else.
