Taps, I know that and you know that, but they don't know that
and they will win their fair share away from the faith and that will be heartbreaking!

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  (Psalm 37:1-3)

Fret not, Climber. "They" will never be successful in ridding the world of Christians.

Straightforward, The best way to state our disapproval is
to do as Jesus did, love the sinner, but hate the sin -- and as He asked us to be -- Be His Witnesses!

I know we needn't offer the other cheek (or should one as per the faith?)
But does that mean an eye for an eye? or can we think of a new way of expressing our disapproval?

ArleyWhite, I appreciate your advise and counsel; however, there
is a movement in our society to rid the world of Christianty before this century ends, if not long before then.    I am sorry, if the Muslims can react strongly to a dead prophet being made fun of, then I can react strong to a living God being crucified all over again!

Mountain, take pause. . .

As a spiritual person I think I understand your concerns about the latest press that the whole Christian belief system has been undergoing in recent years, however, I think it is very important that we take a good hard view of these older documents, (The DaVinci Code disallowed), and see if they can truly increase our understanding of what Jesus was trying to tell us. The noncanonized Gospels that have been slowly surfacing over the last 100 years or so, are giving us a clearer view of the actual period in which Christ was alive and/or the understanding his followers had shortly after his passing. It remains an historical fact that the bible and the organizations that support it have been modified a significant number of times over the centuries in order to make it more palatable to the masses. AND, the organizations that lead our thought processes in this area are run by men. The same corruptible creatures that brought us a couple of World Wars, nuclear weapons, and WMDs. They have their own agendas for the furtherance of their respective causes, and if the relics of the past make them uncomfortable, we should ask, why?

So... don't get too worked up about what is currently in vogue, review it, make an assessment and see if it increases or decreases your strength in your own belief system. Take what you want, and leave what you don't.

I bid you peace and understanding. Arley White
