Please don't tell me you are referring to the article by....gasp....Seymour Hersh????

This is the man who said:

"Sometimes I change events, dates, and places in a certain way to protect people...I can’t fudge what I write. But I can certainly fudge what I say."

Specifically, one of Hersh's dramatic allegations made during a speaking engagement in July 2004, during the height of the Abu Ghraib scandal was later amended by Hersh. He alleged that American troops sexually assaulted young boys: "basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys, children, in cases that have been recorded, the boys were sodomized, with the cameras rolling, and the worst above all of them is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking. That your government has. They’re in total terror it’s going to come out.”   In a subsequent interview with New York Magazine Hersh admitted, "I actually didn’t quite say what I wanted to say correctly...it wasn’t that inaccurate, but it was misstated. The next thing I know, it was all over the blogs. And I just realized then, the power of—and so you have to try and be more careful.

ROTFLMAO!

What's "breaking" about that?   Didn't you know that is inevitable?  Us, the Brits, and Israel....it's a dirty job....but somebody's got to do it......

OFFBEATS - If you are ...
"very thankful we have a President... who make[s] decisions on this global scale" you must be ecstatic with the breaking news that Bush is making plans for the bombing of Iran.

Hmmmm??
Only the leaders you selectively choose to quote from.......kind of like here in the US.....you can find varying opinions on any issue......and don't get me wrong....I do the same thing......it's just that I admit it.

odd that
Iraquis, particularly the leaders, worry that everything indeed IS falling apart over there.

I believe we must question the source of any information in these times. Not to do so would be allowing yourself to be set up. It is very important to check all sources before rendering any decision, especially where there are many hidden agenda's. One life lost is too many, but alas in the real world, we loose more than that in traffic accidents, drive by shootings, drugs, you name it. Most of those people had no choice. The American soldier is a highly trained VOLUNTTER...and you don't hear them whining.

Corbin I watched a documentary on Lincoln a couple nights ago....he was wrought with depression due to the loss of 56 thousand young men in one week...those men fought for freedom..to forget that so many have died for it's cause is what get's lost on todays generation. It takes men of great valor to make decisions where loss of life is concerned....I know no President makes these choices for their own good, rather what is greater for all man.....especially in this global environment. Many forget we do not live in the America of yester year. It takes men of vision to make decisions on this global scale. I for one am very thankful we have a President who can make those decisions and still take all the garbage they throw at him on a personal scale...I would NOT want any one else at the helm and I believe there are many a soldier who would agree!

It is through attention, information, and focus we can keep our country on track....

That would be your track.......there are a lot of us who happen to be riding on a different track....why can't you accept that.......

So according to your latest data.....

The avarage is going down....which shoots one of your graphs out of the water......

Oh, and on the slander.....get real...

Corbin - "Finally a credible source"? The numbers are indentical...

... the graph was just a bit easier to digest. You still avoid the actual issue. - You accused me of presenting skewed data (slander), my data was now skewed, but here's a view of matching six-month periods.

10/7/2005 – 4/7/2006 = 398 – 16.58 per week

10/7/2004 – 4/7/2005 = 475    19.79 per week

I am not "constantly negative" as you stated. I focus on areas which are broken or need additional attention. A smarmy stamp of approval, and repeating party spin, does nothing but weaken our government. It is through attention, information, and focus we can keep our country on track.

About as wearisome as your constant negativity on everything this country does???

Are you claiming this is a product of Western Washington University?
Give me a break.....this is dome by an "individual" there........the comments in the margins indicate the "direction this guy is coming from........come on...you can do better than that!   What's next an article from........The Lying Socialist Weasels

Corbin_Dallas - What is so partisan about Western Washington Univ?

Besides, the death count is accurate, so I don't know how you can support your point that they have radically decreased. Either way - true stats or best-fit-trend-line graphing, the death count is the death count.

You attacked the source rather than the facts. ???

Well, blogger........there's a non-partisan source........LOL

Corbin – How about a “best-fit trend-line” graph of deaths is Irag?

Still very difficult to find that significant down-trend you featured in your post. ???

OFFBEATS,
You just made me lose my dinner! I do hate to be gross! But please stop with the ole"parking lot line"! Do you really think America "got it like that"! The Iraqi resistance is giving "war criminals" all they can handle! If a few more Arabs with courage stands up, we could have war crimes trial before the beginning  of summer! Trust me, I am here to help it along!

perhaps they need to close their borders for a few years.

I hope they don't count on us for training in that area.......

Numbers do matter, GlenB..the reason old Hitler didn't keep tabs is because he couldn't count that high! When I look back at the beginning of this war I am reminded that no country was ever destroyed, rebuilt  and had a new government in less than 5 years. Rome wasn't built in a day, nor the USof A. France, Germany, Japan, the same....

I do believe the leaders of Iraq must take a proactive approach in leadership. I understand their fears, but the troops are there to help insure their success. It is up to Iraq to move forward now. If the countries surrounding them does not support them, perhaps they need to close their borders for a few years. At least that would stop the foreign fighters coming in under the guise of freeing Iraq and the glory of Allah..

Quite frankly if they don't get it together soon regarding their rogue neighbors, being surrounded by parking lots is not a bad idea even if they have no cars......my 2 cents Corbin..

Corbin Dallas,
Hitler did not count the bodies either! I will call you when the Bush "war Crimes" begin! You cannot be prosecuted for the people still standing! It is the "dead bodies" that you so callously regard as insignificant that troubles me!!

That's exactly what's been going on.....the Iraqi units coming on line are now occurring weekly.   You've been in the service....nothing happens overnight.....hell, everything usually takes weeks or months.......

Corbin I think it is out of the Presidents hands, it has been for awhile

his poor ranking is due to the clowns he listened to who drug him down. He should have listened to guys like Shenseki and Zinni instead of senile old men like Rumsfeld and Cheney and "yes" men like Gen. Meyers, and Tommy Franks, who couldn'tretire fast enough and write a book. Meyers was way out of his element. And Colin Powell was used and abused and dumped like yesterdays garbage.

And now we John Ketchupkerry saying he has a plan to get us out by May 15th, yeah right.

We can't leave, but we have to cut back, we have to cut our loses, we have to have Iraq take control and join in the fight.

Actually they do count.....
when we have to continuously listen to the chorus from the Anti-War crowd bemoaning the endless death over there........it's clear that the numbers are trending downward.......or do those things only count when one talks about the President's popularity?????

posted by Corbin_Dallas on April 6, 2006 at 5:22 PM | link to this | reply

I imagine you didn't see General Zinni on Meet the Press
but you should read his book he is right on the money. Even Bush said today mistakes were made especailly with the police and army, duh it took him all this time to see it and admit it.

Corbin all I can say is death is death
do numbers matter? Americans, Iraqis it doesn't matter. How many election have they had and they are still inept? Dragging dead American soldiers around and making a film of it? Oh it is not falling apart because it has NEVER been together, we can't babysit this assholes forever. Their attempt at running a government is like a monkey fucking a football.
