You need to let your mind get out more! As for me, I am a very clear thinker. In fact have been accused of over thinking! Now behave yourself!

Glenn, I don't care if Halliburton hires "brown" people or not.

If a person of color is the right person for the job, then excellent!  What I care about is whether they have entered this country legally or illegally, if they are law abiding or not, and if they are sapping from tax payers while at the same time sending their money back home to wherever.

I'm all for legal immigration of any color.  After all, that's what this country is all about.

What irks me is all the people such as yourself who are flagrantly in full support of law breakers.

JanesOpinion,
I wonder if Halliburton hired "Brown Folk" would there still be this great "drain" on America's economy? Strange arguments coming from people who have no problem with the destruction of other's sovereign governments! Think people the Planet is not as "dumb" as you think! And you are not as "smart" as you are led to believe!

Burly, the Mexican guv also see these illegals as a huge source of

REVENUE!

And Offbeats, girl, I'm with you on this.  There are multiple border hospitals declaring bankruptcy because they're having to treat for free so many illegals.  Sure, illegals help the economy to a degree, but I think the burden is actually greater when you take into consideration the cost of educating their children, the medical costs and of course the costs of housing their felons (since 20% of prisoners in this country are actually illegals).

According to a recent study that I read, the economic impact is actually a net loss.  Illegals are a DRAIN on our society.

Great post Corbin.

The flow from Mexico and Latin America has gone from a flood to a torrent aided by a Mexican government that sees two things here, a safety valve to get rid of people and a stealth invasion to reclaim the southwest for Mexico! In both cases, it is succeeding!

Of course it's a big issue..the medical alone cost millions. Some of our neighbors to the south make sure they are here in time to deliver their babies.. Despite the lack of leadership over all these years, now is the time to set the standards for immigration. Quite frankly they should be happy it is others who are writing the policy. This task in the hands of many around the mid west would be devastating for anyone crossing the borders illegally. Then again, maybe the citizens of America should write the darn thing. I lay you odd's there would be no one coming within miles of the borders. I have heard people around this area say they are just looking for an excuse to take a few out...I do not believe that is the answer, I am only saying I have heard those sentiments and they aren't good. Legal is one thing, illegal is quite another. In the scheme of things going on in this world, these people need to go home or go back to the end of the line...and they need to learn how to speak English!

Corbin,

I don't want to support Mexican "illegal hordes"...but I'd like to add one thing, you probably don't realize how diificult it is to become a legal immigrant for an alien, for example for a Polish citizen. Most of my Polish friends came to your country illegally, because it was the only way for them....one of them even decided to get married to a total stranger (American citizen) to get American citizenship.

I realize that the problem with Mexicans is quite different, but is it really such a big issue? I wish there were such little problems in my country...

Corbin-Dallas,
Maybe Senator Reid saw the idiocy of his Bill! Some people do develop a rational "brain" and grow-up you know!

Corbin, politics aside, the drain on the economy becomes a net gain
Once these workers start paying income tax. As far as worrying about how much they will help the other party, consider how well Bush did by simply being a good leader and reaching out to them. Then consider the negative ramifications of alienating this giant. Why it's a self-fulfilling prphecy! Latinos nearly split for Bush I 04.

And consider the macro-geo-political fallout if we push the Mexican electorate towards a socialist candidate!

It is incalculable the damage being done right now- and much of it by critics of Bush!
