WriterofLight - The Fox News poll out last week had Bush's approval
... at 37%. That is hardly a biased source.

Thanks for commenting!

Mountainclimber, you gotta watch those slow curves! We struck out in 1992 and 1996 on flagrant spitballs.

Scoop, there are people who will boo everything you cited.

Kingmi, interesting take on this. Can't say I agree entirely with your analysis, given the nature of the far left Democrats and the RINOS today, but you do have some good thoughts.

FW, I can just see the GOP prescreening tens of thousands of people who bought Opening Day tickets weeks and months in advance, before the President's appearance was even announced. Blup-blup-blup-blup . . . .the black helicopters are coming to take you away, my friend.

Nautikos, I am in agreement about border security. That and spending are his two major downfalls. The port services deal -to call it what it was - turned out to be more of an embarrassment to the sheep in Congress in general and the Democrats in particular.

Blogflogger, such has indeed been claimed right here in these very e-pages. And once again - 40%/60% of whom? A true cross-section of voters, or a sample skewed against him?

No one says EVERYONE hates Bush. But with approval rates under 40%
... at the very least it does mean 60% (ish) don't approve of his job as president.

Writer,
it would be naive to doubt doubt that the hostility towards President Bush is exaggerated by the mainstrean media. But I have a very strong sense that, of late, two issues have definitely hurt the president: the 'port deal' and the invasion at the Mexican border. (Yes, I call it an invasion, for reasons I have explained in my post of April 2.)

Scoop, you beat me to the punch ....
I wonder how many of the opening day crowd were "pre-screened" by the GOP?

Everyone appreciates what Bush has done, loves him
Obliquely, and would re-elect him given half a chance. It's the dead media abd the dying Democratic Party perpetuating this hoax that no one likes him. His approval dip is caused by his own party gearing up for 08. I suppose I'm in denial?

Explain it, what is there to explain?

1-Opening day of baseball.

2-"Bush received a loud standing ovation when he took the mound in this Republican-leaning city."

3-He was accompanied by two injured soldiers and a father who lost his son in Afghanistan.

4-And "Little American flags were distributed to the crowd of 42,000 before the game.

5-Do we have to draw you a picture?

Who is going to boo this?

WriterofLight, I voted for Bush twice, but I am afraid
that when it came to the war in Iraq, Bush threw us all a slow curve, and we struck out!
