I know that song, also. I think most of us have lived it at one time or another. People have a way of screwing with your self-esteem. I don't know if we ever completely get over it, but I hope you are at a point where you realize your inner and outer beauty. I've not much to go on, except your writing, but it's a good indication to me. Thanks. :)

Here's a trick I learned from a friend about breaking out of the loop of negative mental tapes, especially hearing criticism and feeling bad about yourself. When you catch yourself thinking, "I can't do housework, I'm so lame" or "I'm fat and ugly, because so and so, said it", take a quick breath, turn your head quickly from right to left and blow it out, in a quick exhale. Do that three times.
It's just a mental trick to help snap you out of that negative mental place, but it's helped me to get over and be on my way to forgetting all the mean, sarcastic things my friend and roommate used to say to me about how bad I was at everything from housekeeping to cooking to the way I write, think and talk. Just blow it out like so much air.
