It stars Meg Ryan. She becomes a manager of a black fellow from the 'hood, who doesn't believe in himself. He becomes middle-weight world champion. She reminds me of you: she makes it in a male-dominated sport and proves her worthiness. It said at the end of the movie that the woman it was made about went on to manage several other champions. Everyone told her she couldn't do it and she did it.

the more i discover human nature, the more i find ppl disappointing...sometimes you think people are on your side, that they respect you etc until they really drop their masks...it is really hard for me to trust anyone a 100%...sorry to bother you with this, but i needed to let this out of my chest...I have been really disappointed by ppl recently...

Short and direct.

Dear avant-garde, Like an arrow your words are short but direct.

Yes, I agree, everyday we meet people who wants to be noticed and when somebody looks out of place we look at the attire, the things they are carrying and at once put ourselves in guard. If I see anything unusual  and I don't like the feeling, I flee, in short I avoid magicians, though I know a lot of magic too.

Thank you for reading my writings, I have  diversed topics so it would be a suprise on what subject I will post next. It really inspires me to share more though we don't really get money out of this. Our pleasure lies on exchange of comments and views and of course a bit of compliment, no magic involve. LOL

regards for now.. Prof

Avant-Garde,
Just out of curiosity ... when I read the title of your blog, I always ask myself: are you by any chance from Antwerp? Because that is how someone from that city would pronounce 'Amerikaan'.

He is acting spry for a large dog of 11 years. He has really done well since about Sunday morning. He's going up and down the stairs with ease, and he is really able to relax. I'll be...doggone. It's 3:19! Let me check on him.

That mass is about the size of my fist. I know that if the vet operated on it, the stress might do him in. He's pretty old and I'm fearful of his prognosis.

Reading about your animal skills is very comforting. He would really like you. My wife bought him when he was a pup from a sorority house. He's always loved women and been leary of men.

Avant.....

They say life is an illusion and our reality is what we have created, consciously or subconsciously. We are powerful beings and more of us are realizing that. Great post!  How is Butterscotch today? I will be doing another healing on him this afternoon, about 3 pm your time. Take care!

Indeed, it would be. But the consciousness of being helpless and reactive is so strong here. It appears to be how it really is.

I see what you are asking here. You can have the experience of feeling disgust, and if used properly will motivate one to bring change. The experience of anger, if used properly, can be incredibly motivating. There are many 'victims' of crime, whose purpose is to see to it that no one else goes through it.

Even in the context of being reactive, there is a choice on how to relate to it.

You are in a body. You are constantly experiencing. It can't be stopped. However, you do have a choice in what you would experience. It is a simple matter of seeing objects as the source of your experience, or seeing yourself as the source.

One plays the character of victim, the other victor.

If only we understood that we are all magicians with the power to make things appear or disappear, how much easier life would be!

how can you see the beauty in something if you are unchanging? i see a forest and i am moved, i find cities gross. if the mind creates the experience and is unchanging how can anything be experienced?

I see what you are saying. I would daresay that the condition exists for us to decide who we are in relation to it. Thank you.

Yes. Is our obsession with appearances not a reflection of how we view ourselves? Were there real beauty, appearances would not matter much at all.

posted by avant-garde on April 3, 2006 at 6:21 AM | link to this | reply

I do not like facing my wrinkles...
Seriously, I was pondering the creation of mirrors and, even, photography just the other day.  Society would not be so obsessed with youth and beauty if each person could not see their own reflection clearly.  We would only be able to compare others and not ourselves.

hiiii
wand of faith ...thats the only weapon that never fails & doesnt hurt either....but its a heavy one to carry & thats why we carry a torch of perceptions thru which the only thing that appears is the appearence....or the condition ...not both of them.....very profound post.
