apologies... after reading the comments here, I forgot what I intended to
say.  But this was quite good reading also!

Dennison_Mann - if you don't need it, why do you keep coming back for more?
Before you go further into your little defensive spiral, yes I do feel that your first comment contained a bit of acrimony. It was an observation that would probably be better left unsaid, unless of course you are willing to accept a response in kind. Which you have just demonstrated that you are not only unwilling to, but possibly are incapable of.  As I conceeded from the outset, I do see the irony, there is a minor parrallel to be drawn between posting in this category continuously, if one thinks it has any real meaning other than being a diversion, as compared to the repetitive and equally fruitless actions of organized religion over 2 millenia. But your observation is based on two erroneous assumptions; those being that I think what I write here has any real impact on adherants to Christianity and that you know why I continue to contribute to Blogit.

Gomer...

This:

Funny...After Reading This Quote...

"Performing the same actions over and over again...yet expecting a different outcome, is indeed insane."

I couldn't help but wonder how long you intend to bang your head against the wall of Christianity?

DM

meets your definition of acrimony?

As for the respect issue, show me where it's written that respect cannot be reversed in a single instance. And tell me, who makes such laws regarding respect? Do you? Or is it just one of your beliefs?

Either way you slice it, I really don't need your platitudes.

And I certainly don't need this.

Good luck, bubba.

Dennison_Mann - yeah, that's about what I expected
The ". . . used to respect . . " part is the best. If the respect of another individual is so fleeting that it is completely eradicated from one minor affront to an individual's sensibilities, then it was hardly ever respect. Suggesting that this respect is now absent because you cannot handle a bit of a comeback to your smartass remarks isn't likely to hurt my feelings.  Yes you saw an irony and it may well have some credence but if you are not prepared to receive the same amount of acrimony that you are giving, why would you leave this observation as a comment?

Well, That Wasn't My Intention...

But I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings.

I just recognized some irony in that statement about doing the same thing over and over again. I guess the humor of that was lost on you? Again, sorry about that.

I used to respect you. That is all now lost.

And you don't have to say it, I already know that you don't....

Ah, never mind. This aint even worth it.

Dennison_Mann -- I was wondering how long it was going to be before your

comments took on their usual flavour of acidity again. Of the 15 or so comments that you have left me since you have been on Blogit, only a handful could be deamed as contributing to the content of the postings they were left on. The rest have ranged from correcting typos and smartass quips to simply being rude. In answer to the question you attempt to pose, changing anything within the collective mindset of a firmly entrenched religion is not likely to be effected in any meaningful way from a blog posting. I blog for a number of other reasons, which after paying my membership fees to Blogit, I do not feel obligated to clarify to anyone. In the future, you are welcome to post comments here but if you are insistent on attempting to engage me in acrimoniuos debate where none should exist and devoid of any worthy intellectual challenge, I have but one suggestion.

It involves sex and travel.

You ROCK.
My uncle and I have a discussion often about how Christians assume their religion is full of facts when actually, it's as much mythology as any other religion. Augh. Thanks.

Your points are well written and well taken! I believe what I believe and

you believe what you believe and we can both be happy... no need to convince or put anyone down for not following suit, it should all be this easy!

Great post...
