You are right. There is no place in the heart for regret, because it slowly kills the spirit.

It's good to hear from you, but don't feel obligated to comment just because I read you. I enjoy it and would not want you to feel that way.

....to stay positive, to see the possibilities, to embrace the beauty of all.....to say no to despair, to depression, to loss, to negativity, to regret.....the tests of life.....the choices we have....really, there is only one way to live our lives....

Avant Garde

"Roaming in the gloaming" popped into my mind, when I read this, but I can't remember if that is a poem or a song. "Gloam" just has such a powerful feel, like some words have an actual aura to them. It's not quite "gloom" with all the despair and darkness that implies, but more le heure bleu, a contemplative quiet folding up of the day.

I do not overuse metaphors for my life anymore, comparing the seasons and hours of the day to the passages of my life. Spring may be spring every year and each year I feel older, but in some way, my spirit is eternal. The same with the twilight, what may be the twilight of the day, no longer makes me sad, because my spirit is eternal.  Good thoughts, Avent Garde.

The 8 Mile slogan is...
"Every moment is another chance" and i think we should never live with past regrets or missed occasions, but rather concentrate on what we have...and grab our chance when needed. Somebody who has tried  and even who failed at his task has less chances to become bitter than somebody who only lives in the past...

Stopping in to tell you that you have not been forgotten. Though I haven't been commenting much lately, I have been reading. Hopefully, my life will be back to normal soon. Blessings and thanks for stopping in to my post recently...

I've been pondering that last line again myself. I was in a state of utter calm when I wrote it, after having meditated for a long period.

Dental surgery? Ouch. We are all pretty good. Our Golden Retriever has a mass on his chest, and we're waiting for the results to determine what to do. He is 11 and has had a good life.

I am having dental surgery tomorrow, but other than that I am fine.  And you and your family? I hope you are all well.

A very dynamic perspective

that allows one to take what some might consider to be a negative and revisit it as a positive.
