Dear Symphony,
Thank you very much for a good lesson of real English, as for your accent, I like Cockney - it sounds natural, nice for my Polish ears. I had "Listening Comprehension" and "Pronunciation" classes when I was a student of English Philology, we practised various accents - for me the most difficult was Australian English. Of course we had to use so called RP, which wasn't easy at all... Take care.

PROF-SUMAKEL33

I liked it very much, but yes there are others here that are emabarrassed to read such (one of my blogs got moved to M/A but now I got rid of it altogether)

you did nothing wrong as you warned people and said Adults only...so please leave it where it is....when you do the next one...just change the catogory in your edit page to M/A and direct others there (let them know) and once the story is finsihed with.....put it back in the catorogry where you had it before.

that is just to save other peoples embarrassment....

but I don't care even way...As I think you are a wonderful writer you did a great job with that story....and I mean it.

well done....take care

hiiii..

throughly enjoyed the post..i have a book on slang language called 'From Flappers to wrappers' ...but its too much for me!! and for me more than your accent your emotions & your words matter ..you are one of the most caring & warm hearted person on blogit land.

Take care.

Very good research.

Dear Symphony.  This collection of words is a good material for a small book. I have one in Australian Slang. Maybe if you keep a good listing of this one you might get it published.

Thanks for admiring my Romance Story. After a days I will post the second part but I might remove the adult lines in the whole story and just stick Romance. I did not know that Blogit has the facility of Mature Audience, but it is too late, and I put a big sign of Adults Only, Anyway if BLOGIT Team finds it offensive, I am willing to delete it, but so far they haven't told me about it.

regards for now... Prof

symph,

I once saw a version of My Fair Lady (I want to hear how you say ''The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain'') and I loved the Cockney in that.  If you can send an email with a voice recording on it I think I could play it with Microsoft media player, although I have a couple of others.  My email is the same as it always has been.  If you don't still have it, send a Blogit email and I can reply with mine.

You could post a recording of your speech if you have someplace besides Blogit to put it.  Let me know if you need to know how to do it.  I could use my site for a while, if it isn't real huge.

And thank you for reading my blog.  You always cheer me up.

Symphony,
It seems funny that when Americans try to do English accents, we almost always get it wrong and sound something more vaguely Australian.  I've seen a couple episodes of "Heist", the Engliish con series, I can't remember the guy's name, but I'm pretty sure the blond guy is Cockney, isn't he?

Great post! The local theater was congratulated for doing such a good job with cockney but I suspect it was that the audience didn't know what it was supposed to sound like. My penpal says he once had a North Country accent.

Thanks A...but nobody talks like they sing...."so to speak"
hahaha (pun not intended) but yeah thats a good idea for my buisness...

You're a singer. Make your own CD of songs. Market yourself to your karaoke customers etc. The initial cost is of one master CD. Then learn to burn copies at your home pc. Of course, satisfy your local government's rules & regulations regarding distribution in this concern too. Mcbreeze does something like this.
