I think that is a good point in theory scriber, but it will take years for
that to happen. We are just too far ahead of the game with Mexico for anything like that to happen anytime soon.

One solution I haven't seen mention, is that as the standard of living in
the U.S. is gradually lowered to equal that of Mexico, as it surely will be, fewer Mexicans will risk their lives to come here.

Yes, if things would go wrong it could be bad for the whole country.

I think the vote thing is what is making the Democrats glad in this whole deal. We will have to see how this plays outs. I think we will come up with a good compromise in the end. I don't really want to play politics with this issue, but in some ways each side has to protect themselves.

The LSU women aren't a surprise, but the men sure are. The men's team not only has gotten better during the year, but they think they can play now. I would love to see them win the whole thing.

Sarooster

From a political point of view.........Let's say all 11 million illegal aliens become US citizens.......

Which party do you think they're going to vote for? Even if they split 60/40 for the Democrats -- and given that they're mostly poor, uneducated people, from mostly socialist countries, who don't respect our laws, those are probably extremely generous numbers for the GOP -- this will add more than 2 million potential votes for the Democrats.

How 'bout them LSU Tigers.......Men and Women both in their Final Fours!!!

Climber56,
We can support many of these people who are here and many more that can come in. They will find jobs and pay taxes if we can get a good program going. We will see how this all works out, but I think we will see some good out of all the rhetoric.

Scoop,
We can't afford to just let people come in. That's pretty much what we are doing now. I know a lot of these poor people are just coming in because the US offers a much better life for them. I think we can handle those people in some capacity. It's the ones who are coming in to do us harm that I worry about. I think we will get a good law or laws dealing with this because the both sides know how important it is.

Good post and I agree 100% it is not going to be easy,
our biggest problem is securing both borders. We don't even know who is here now. I know the borders up north around Vermont and Maine are very vulnerable. Both sides have to work this out for the future of the country and I am serious when I say that.
