Xeno-x - You are speaking in relative terms concerning educations
In absolute terms, your country has a very good educational system with a nearly unparralled access to it. As North Americans we tend tp get caught up in focusing on the deficiencies of our educational systems (and certainly there are some glaring ones) while not appreciating what we do have.

backwards educatoinal system gomey?
there's one right hter in the good ol usa
look up the illiteracy figures.
but it's not the lack of educatoin, it's the type of education.
much of what they got, they got from a larger religious system. maybe that's why there's no condemnation. it's like the pot calling the kettle black.
but other churches that don't agree with this should speak out.
i think some have.
but throughout the us there is such a lack of education. and then there's the notion of some churches that the educational system does not teach the right things.
they've got some encouragement from a lot of others, many of which think they are right.

Kooka -
Ignorance and fear control a lot of minds these days. It is sad. I don't know if you have heard or not, but there is a group of ex-service men who ride motorcycles and have been gathering in the same places as these people to shield the families from those protesting. The ex-servicemen's effort is growing day by day. That is pretty cool in my book.

kooka_lives -- The type of lunacy you describe in this posting seems to be
happening with alarming frequency in this day and age.
The really sad part is the lack of condemnation of these people and their misguided efforts by others of the same faith. We often talk about the role that moderate Muslims should play in censuring the wayward element within their religion but Christian religions seem not willing to do the same thing. If the people involved were simply ignorant because they hail from a country with a backwards education system, as most of this planet's religious fanantics do, it would be understandable. However they are not, they come from the wealthiest nation on earth, with one of the best education systems on earth yet manage somehow to live a life of completely irrational and illogical thought process. I still to this day, cannot reconcile how the industrialized nations, with their technology, education, scientific discoveries and ever expanding common knowledge base can still produce college graduates that accredit everything that happens as the will of some imaginary being.

Right on the money Kooka!
Your line ".....but if God was all-loving he would not be able to hate..." is a powerful statement, and absolutely correct. But these so-called God loving (and God fearing) people never seem to get it.
I mean why anyone in their right mind would get on their knees and worship a God of sin, anger, vengeance and judgment is beyond me in the first place. It completely baffles me.
Wouldn't these people (and their souls) be much better off seeking a God of inconditional love and tolerance for all? But if you try to convince them of that fact, then they start judging you! Totally insane.
