I remember the Greek's comments but I seem to either have forgotten or just

Probably so ...
but my point was both Rooney and "The Greek" essentially said the exact same thing (under the exact same circumstances).
However, while The Greek's career was immediately over, Rooney (barely) received a slap on the wrist.

The political correctness police were all over that guy, M.P.O. As for
racial slurs, not being drunk when delivering them is far worse, I'm thinking.

I'm a little surprised he would be fired for that ...
I could see his being suspended, but fired?
Somehow, I doubt if Don Imus ever suffered a similar "slip of the tongue" that he'd receive the same fate.
I guess it's like the difference between Jimmy the Greek's drunken racial slurs and Andy Rooney's drunken racial slurs.
