Nanaroo,
I loved this show! When I was younger, we used to see the reruns every day. I was too small to know/understand that these kids were actually grown ups by the time I was catching the show. I wanted to be friends with Cubby and Karen and Annette. I remember the show even had short little mini-shows, something like The Adventures of Spin and Marty. Ah, thanks for the memories. :)

I do remember watching that show now and then but tv reception in the area was unreliable. The one I remember is Captain Kangaroo. I wonder if kids' shows like that are a thing of the past, or if they could be revived in the 21st century.

Nana, I am so mad! I read the post and followed the site to the Mickey
Mouse Club, page and now I have mouse fever. They didn't tell nearly enough abou them, now I am obsessed with finding more info!
I'm not really mad, I hope I didn't scare you! I just really want to know more, now!

I agree- the black and white versions were the best! Glad you liked it-- and I'm not sure about the person you mentioned... a lot of those mouseketeers went on to acting careers

I used to watch the black and white reruns in the mornings before school,
I loved it! Then they started showing the "new" color version and it just wasn't the same.
Wasn't Lisa Welchel, from the "Facts of Life", a Mouseketeer first?
Great post, Nana!

Nice post
my early addictions were in the mid sixties when watching the 'Watch with Mother' series, featuring Tales from the Riverbank, Andy Pandy, Bill and Ben and The Woodentops!

yes, I think that show went on for many years and they kept replacing the cast members. One of the guys who got kicked off the show in the 50's was named Mickey Rooney, Jr. !!

I must have seen it with a new cast... I remember the song.
Mr. Rogers was one of my favorites... and Magic Garden.

I think that was a little before my time. I was a kid in the late '60's and early 70's.

Uh huh. Yep. Er, actually, the early childhood of TV was ... well, way back in the 1930s. I remember it well. John Logie Baird an' all that.
I say, grandma, congratulations! You do look young for your age!! LOL
