You should know by now I'm just full of compliments...
So full of them that sometimes I give me a bellyache.  Can't imagine what my compliments do to your tummy.

I wasn't even sure if it was a compliment ...
when you said it.

Quoth MPO: "That's pretty much exactly what...my mother...said"
Was that a compliment?  I don't know?!?

Sorry, grasshopper ...

as you can see, I went with #3.

Feel free to use #4 yourself, though ... if you wish.

#4 Please...
...and that's only because I'm a King fan.

posted by grasshopperct on March 21, 2006 at 9:48 PM | link to this | reply

That's no excuse.

I never heard of the films, duh.

Recap:

#3 = 6 (votes)

#4 = 4

#2 = 2

#5 = 2

#1 = 0.82

Thanks, AC ...
that makes 2 for #2.

Quoth Gulliver:

"My second favorite would be #1, not because of Lemony Snicket, but because I think that sums up your posts 9 times out of 10."

That's pretty much exactly what both my mother and my best friend (who actually came up with the name) said.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 11:14 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you for voting, David ...
so, that's 6 for #3.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 11:11 AM | link to this | reply

Gubby, she didn't say "strange" ...

she said "weird".

And what have I told you about answering my comments?

We already went over this.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 11:10 AM | link to this | reply

I like #2 as well, Nanaroo (it's a terrific movie, too) ...
however, I'm not sure enough people will understand the reference, having likely never read the story or seen the film.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 11:07 AM | link to this | reply

Don't take this the wrong way, Gubby, but ...

are you an "idiot savant" or something?

#2, #3 & #4 all reference film adaptations of fairly well-known works of literature.

So, I don't know what it was you weren't getting?

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 11:04 AM | link to this | reply

MPO ~
Chalk another one up for #2.

posted by AC_Allyn on March 21, 2006 at 9:40 AM | link to this | reply

My personal favorite may be 5, but I don't think you would attract many readers that way.  Then again, you don't have to attract anyone...they just naturally flock to you.  I suppose you could name it, "Don't read my blog...I mean it" and you might knock Arelia off her Blogit throne.  My second favorite would be #1, not because of Lemony Snicket, but because I think that sums up your posts 9 times out of 10.

# 3: The Unbearable Lightness of Blogging
Great title!

Nanaroo,
Yep, you're strange ;P

posted by Gubby on March 21, 2006 at 6:36 AM | link to this | reply

M.P.O.
maybe I'm wierd, but I really like #2!

posted by Nanaroo on March 21, 2006 at 6:31 AM | link to this | reply

I only actually "get" #1 and #5. Out of those, #5 is just too random and pointless, so I'd say #1.

Or, you could make a joke name like I did, such as "how I became a lesbian". A constant source of entertaning miscomprehension, not to mention clicks. From that angle, how about:

Adventures in Polyamory

My Collection of Sexual Phobias

How to Become Bisexual in 30 Days

Pictures From Saddam Hussain's Childhood

Working Towards The First Female Presidency

Life After My Second Sex Change

From Death Row With Love

Thanks, Rcky ...

okay, so it's:

#3 = 5 votes

#4 = 4 votes

#1 = 1 vote

M.P.O.
I vote for Night Blogger!

That one was actually a late addition, Kyra ...
My best friend just came up with it this morning.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 5:33 AM | link to this | reply

If we're voting..

I vote for #1.

But, then again, I also had to be different. But, #1 my favorite.

Yeah, it really was a wonderful film, Dave.

Thanks for voting.

My favourite was # 3, a quirky take on one of my favourite films

Don't mention it ...
Meanwhile, the list has been amended.  Plus, a few new contenders have emerged.

Any books top of the head and at the tip of the tongue must be really good. Thanks so much for your recommendations.

You've won and completed the puzzle for the movie quiz. Well done.

Many movies have similar plots so it is hard to pinpoint a particular title.

Any particular kind of book?

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 1:38 AM | link to this | reply

It's okay, Ann, take your time.

Besides, due to the odd schedule I keep, there's quite a few people here who won't have a chance to see this for several hours yet.

You know, it just occured to me that the title doesn't absolutely have to have the word "blog" in it.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 21, 2006 at 1:37 AM | link to this | reply

So intriguing that I forgot to add that you've won for the blogger guess. Congrats!

You've written excellent film reviews. How about book recommendations?

I can't choose yet. They are all very interesting blog names.

Thanks for your input, Cesium ...

So, I guess it's between #3 and #4.

Unless, something even better pops into my head between now and whenever.

Okay, 4 votes for #3.

I think the Palooza's might take offense to that MP

Not sure about ...

"Blogapalooza".

I need something clever and catchy, but that doesn't grow stale after you've seen it 50,000 times.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 20, 2006 at 9:47 PM | link to this | reply

Thanks for "voting", SmartDog ...

Oh, and I know how you feel.  My best friend and I have been collaborating on a series of (rhyming) children's books ... and once you get into that mindset, it's rather difficult to extricate yourself.

It's very annoying.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 20, 2006 at 9:45 PM | link to this | reply

OK I can't help it...
What about Blogapalooza???

posted by smartdog_670 on March 20, 2006 at 9:43 PM | link to this | reply

Oh, there's no new direction per se ...

A subtle transformation (now nearly complete) already began taking place two or three weeks ago.

The new category/name will merely better reflect that change in scope.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 20, 2006 at 9:41 PM | link to this | reply

MPO
I agree.  Number three.  I can't stop rhyming.  Geez.  Somebody stop me, Please!

Be well,
-smartdog

Depends a bit on what your new direction is, exactly

But I like Stephen King's The Night Blogger.

Anything with "Vagina" in the title will draw even more of a certain type of reader to your blog.  Come to think of it, maybe I should steal that name.

Suggestions for your new direction:  Ricky Martin fanblog, Star Trek fanblog, Homer Simpson fanblog, or the Aaron fanblog

Thanks, PassionFlower!

I like that one too.

May be a little esoteric for this crowd, however.

#3 is my choice...good luck on your new direction.
