My original answer remains the same.
I don't go running to volunteer info but at the same time, I don't lie for a scoundrel, either.

yes i would like to be told but when i was told i didnt believe & gave another chance just like your friend & paid the price for it...its good to break your faith yourself..rather than seeing it being shattered.

I've been on both sides...or actually all 4
I've had a friends boyfriend try to cheat with me ...when I told her ..she didn't believe me ..they are not married and we don't talk anymore.
If given the choice ..I would tell my best friend ....
I've been cheated on ...by two ex's ...one of them I was told about ..and was thankful I found on no matter how much it hurt. ...the other cheated on me with a friend ..who never told me. I found out this summer (the actual dating /cheating etc was about 9 years ago) ...
To sum it up ..I don't think there is an easy way to find out about someone cheating ...it hurts and you usually end up pissed at everyone ..but then you usually end up hating yourself the most because you always sorta knew something was happening ...you just ignored all the signs.

Symph... I still say the same thing,
as long as I myself knew he was cheating I would tell. But if I just heard gossip, I wouldn't say a word. And yes, I'd still want to know if it were fact!

I will no tell.
Dear Symphony.. Even if I saw it with my own eyes, I will not tell, unless a relative of mine is involved.

Symphony,
I don't know what I'd do. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with that situation right now. It's not easy.

6 months seem an eternity. I've seen at least two women cheating but haven't told. Let them work it out or Fate work it out for them.

My ex cheated and I found out the hard way--when he was DUMPING me! I wish I'd have known in advance.

I'm anxious to get back to work soon. Hopefully, once I sign the papers on the house on Friday, I'll get deployed. I'm rested and ready.

Thank you very much for sharing...again Justsouno ...I love ya too!
Yes it is a painful place to be...
I would not tell just anybody....I have to be close like I am/was (to tell) with my best friend (it took me a few days to tell, but I felt in the end it was right, and it was)

Symphony, I think I still feel as I did on my last comment. I feel
this is an incredibly heavy load to carry. I would not want someone to tell me they slept with my friend's boy or girlfriend. No way, don't tell me such junk. Painful place. I still could not tell. If I did she would have to do something, If I didn't I don't know that she doesn't know and may be she is trying to sort out the best way..... I don't know is the bottom line. Love ya!

Symphony...I never got to read this post or participate -
On Sept 1 of 2005 when you first wrote it, Hurricane Katrina had just made landfall in New Orleans and I was there working. So here are my answers:
Yes, I would tell my best friend what I had heard and let her discover if it was true or not.
And, Yes, I would want a friend to tell me if a guy was cheating on me.
Normally, I just get it straight at the beginning of a relationship whether we will be seeing others or not. I rarely date anyone exclusively and normally reserve the right to date other guys if I want to. That eliminates questions about faithfulness.
