And I would like to add it's also very hard for any one person to get
a grip on what's going on overall. You can't cover that much of the country by yourself. So we get doses of news from bunches of people all with different agendas and things they are looking for. The Iraqi's don't have a clue on what is going on in Iraq.

My uncle is a service person and he is not giving a good report at all. In fact with service people it is about 50/50 as to who they report it. Is the right leaning reports who claim all is calm and peaceful over there who really show they care nothing about facts and are just trying to pas son B.S. propaganda to make Bush and his bunch look as if they did something good.
I look at what the person has to gain by saying what that say. My uncle gains nothing by saying what he says. Reporters all gain, so in that case I look at who makes more sense. The other service people over there do gain by feeding us propaganda, so once more I look at who is making more sense.

The problem is lack of balance.
To those reporting from Iraq, it's usually all good (as in reports from the servicepeople) or all bad (as in reports from the so-called reporters who wouldn't know a victory if it popped out of an MRE, and wouldn't report it honestly even if they did). Very, very few sources give the entire picture.
