Nanaroo,

I hope that computers never do away with books completely. Libraries have always been a sanctuary for me.  I used to get this religious sense of awe at all the books in even there, just awed by the fact  that I could never find time to read them all.

Bookstores are close. I don't get that same feeling there, though. Something about old books, I think, still has that sense for me.

so you're a reader too.. Don't libraries smell wonderful?!

Me too, Nanaroo!
It is such bliss, even though I love my boyfriend, to have the apartment to myself again.  As a kid, I'd bring home stacks of books from the library and disapper into my room.

I was!  I think that is why I wrote well for my age- I read 5-6 books a week.   I think I liked spending time alone even when I was younger and I must have done lots of thinking then...   To me, it was heaven to have the house all to myself (rare).

Nanaroo,
I wonder how you came by your sense of detachment and insight into your family at such a young age?  You wrote that your mother was "quite capable at raising a family" and your father "a tall handsome type".  You must have been a voracious reader, too!

thank you, it is nice to get them into cyberspace or on a disk for safekeeping.  Some of the pages are getting pretty yellow and old and will surely disintegrate soon!

Look at you, Nanaroo....Delightful to read....
I love the old 'clack-clack' of the manual typewriters. A wonderful sound that meant so much...How cute you were writing that nice 'blog.' Great to see you started writing so young and enjoyed doing it throughout your life.....

That's funny!
I did that, too! Loved the typewriter, even when I was about 6! Wrote all kinds of stuff. Scary, actually.

This is really cool...but it's so neat and tidy looking-
My old stuff from that age is messy!!! Scribbling all over - food or drink stains...yuk! You've kept yours very clean.
