Y'all really had some interesting input here.....thank you so much for participating because it gave me a lot of ideas for some future posts I have in mind. We're all experts on the topic because we're all men and women interacting with each other....and there are as many right ways to do it as there are combinations we can make....the trick seems to be in finding our right "beaker"(is that the right one?--too lazy to look it up) for our lab experiments. DM.....you're way is right for you, and I'm sure there are plenty of ladies who are in agreement with you; personally, I don't want to go back to the first time....I like the way it keeps getting better and better with frequency....but, that's my way....and, absence doesn't make my heart grow fonder past the initial get together and then it's familiar again, so I'd just as soon stay together and work on the technique of getting it better and better....again, the beauty of the varitey of the human race is....the variety of the human race! Mason, I sure hope you read the comments left for you....and, hope you read in your own comment, maybe a little bit of the key to the difficulties you may be having....that's all I'll say

Dennison, the women I know pay their share of expenses on a date. If the man insists on paying for the meal, I always pick up the check the next time. I don't just assume men should pay - I make more money than alot of the men I date, so why should I expect them to buy everything.
Even if I'm in a bar drinking...we take turns buying rounds, women included!!!! It's the 21st Century and women don't need no STINKIN' MEN TO TAKE CARE OF THEM ANYMORE!!!

You made great points in your comments, too. I think alot of men feel so strapped for cash when dating women. The pressure is high on the male species...But I also know that men want young, younger, and youngest...Remember I wrote a post where I half-quoted that actor, James Woods who said, something like this...."Why date older women? Which would you rather have an old dog or a puppy?" That pissed me off so much......

Hi Mason.....Okay, I'll try giving my two-cents....
I am fascinated not only by Krisles' excellent writing on a tender subject, but also with the various comments sprinkled here..... Passionflower gave you good advice. I hate to agree, but men seem to want a "type." Whereas women, we will enjoy being with let's say, a bald, sexy and intelligent guy, or an athletic, dodo guy, or an unattractive man who is kind, funny, etc. I think men get too stuck on the visual. Not all men, but many who believe that sex is only right with a young woman. Like Donald Trump, for ex. If he didn't have the $$$ and the prestige, he probably couldn't get younger women....His current wife is 31 and he is 60. Okay, sometimes love does occur between different age groups....It is hard out there, I'm not going to lie. Ca88andra wrote a heartfelt post about being over 40 and feeling invisible to men. That made me want to cry. I think women have to try that much harder to "stay in the game." That's what I do anyway. It's ugly out there in the dating world, but men have got to sample more of the mature products..haha

But I'd have to say that what you've described below works both ways. And worse for men, not only must they be drop dead gorgeous for a woman to express the first signs of interest, the guy must also have a huge wad in his pants!
I mean, a huge wad of cash to pay for all the accoutrements of romance. Far be it from womanity to offer to pay for the first date...the second date...the cruise...or barely anything after that! Hell, many women actually feel entitled to demand financial support from a man even after the romance (marriage) has ended.
This street goes both ways.

The reason alot of men in every age group tend to have poor experiences with women is that they have in their minds a certain type of woman...hair color, size and shape, etc. And they only date women who fit this description they have in their heads.
I'll give you a good example. One of the blogges around here is a pretty blonde in her fifties. She used to get hundreds of emails every week from the dating service. Men would send her jewelry and air plane tickets.
They didn't know her at all. She could have been the meanest old drunk on the planet. They only wanted to be with a gorgeous blonde. What she was like on the inside was irrelevant.
Men suffer in bad relationships bec they mostly just want a pretty blonde to hang on their arm. They're not really searching for an intelligent, witty, clever, independent woman who knows where she's going and who she is.
Oh yeah, they SAY that's what they're looking for...but it's a lie!

I personally love and enjoy sex very much-
I have a pretty unusual outlook on sex. I believe its a normal biological function, like eating, sleeping, breathing...It was God's idea and therefore can't be bad in itself.
Of course we do all kinds of things to make it ugly, but sex is, for me a wonderful, warm, amazing journey into ecstasy. Alot of men fail to recognize how amazing it can be because men tend to be shallow in general.
I dated a man, named Danny, for a whole year who was sleeping with 4 other women, some in various cities (he travels alot). I hated that he was seeing so many other women but I put up with it for one reason:
Danny has the extraordinary ability to sense what a woman is feeling. He responds by kissing, licking, sucking wherever he feels she desires him to. He listens very closely to a woman's body language. He anticipates her needs and makes every effort to satisfy her.
I finally had to give him up but I still think about him.

..fantastic post, from an honest woman... for a change!... if you take care of yourself it never stops. ... unfortunately for them (women)... my batting average (not performance) has gone down... at 61 you begin to run into... obstacles... the women in the age range that I should be interested in have the men-on-pause, or some other strange ailment, or you have to be careful you don't break their hip... the girls in their 40's that are available are generally divorced and burned out on relationships, sex, the whole deal... those in their 20's -30's want no less than Brad Pitt, not someone old enough to be their father or grandfather... that leaves the 18-19 year olds who are experimenting... and if I tie into that.. all sorts of bad press.. and I'm labeled "hornykinkydirtyoleman," etc,etc. ...frustrating... maybe I just don't have the right 'singles,' club... what would you suggest... seriously, M.

Interesting post, but I still advocate strategic abstinence for men now and then just to remind themself what sex felt like when they first started.
Men tend to masturbate way too much! They'll masturbate every day, twice, three times a day and then fully expect to also have sex with their wife! Sometimes, a little withholding is a good thing. Just like too much cake that screws up a diet, a good sexual appetite must be balanced for most men.

What a well written and exceptional post luv. I only discovered the good part of sex with my Joyce and that was at about age 42. So, for about twenty years it was as you describe it, beautiful. Now, for some reasons I don't understand completely, my body seems dead sexually. Sheesh, and I'm not 70 yet.
