Majroj left an even better idea on The Secret Life of Cats - become a sideways popsicle in the metaphorical esophagus of the doctors in question. In other words, these doctors need a good talking to - often a forceful talking-to. I'm not suggesting assault and battery; I am suggesting that doctors aren't perfect, and need all the facts at their disposal. But my DH and I are getting "don't confuse me with the facts, just blindly obey us and do as we say or else." Man, have I seen a lot of that attitude of late. More than my share.

Ever tried reiki? It's a bit "hippy", but apparently, it works very well. I was going to learn how to do it myself, but I soon realised I couldn't be arsed.
However, that has nothing to do with the fact that it's effective.
