By the way, where are all the liberals on this one?
My guess is that their brains are a bit overloaded at the wildly contradictory data presented in one of their beloved polls. "His approval ratings are down . . . but people like him personally . . . but he is evil . . . but people think he is intelligent . . . help me . . . help me . . . I'm melting . . ."

Thanks for commenting!

Kigmi raises an interesting issue, the purported erosion of his "base." I don't think it's that big an issue. For one thing, he's done, he isn't running again - which makes the liberal obssession on defeating him all the more laughable. God help them if they campaign against him instead of real candidates this year and/or in 2008.

What I think is going on is that his supporters support him on some things but not on others, which is perfectly normal. I for one have always opposed his free spending and his failure to secure the borders. I also opposed his approach (but not necessarily his position) to the ports services sale.

Good post!
The media tries to make the news, not report it.

WoL, I do not think Bush is in trouble. Even though his base is eroding
they will still vote Republican.  Independents are for Republicans on defense and I think it's going to be another Republican year 00 06 & 08.
