elysiafields -- that's it and with some of the worst offenders being those
who are waving the banner with the greatest vigor. The dying for our sins part sold well to ancient and medievel audiences but when does this fable get tired and redundant? About 300 years ago would be my answer.

It makes no sense that Christ saved us from sin. As I've mentioned many times, the flagship of the western world sails under the banner of Christ - raping, pillaging, warring, politicking. It's as if Christ divorced himself from his own sinfulness, by bringing it to bear on the rest of us.
