I don't think I can ever know that lighthearted happiness I once felt before this love cancellation, unrequited love or whatever you can call it.  My heart may be heavier, but that means it is fuller.  The love I still have for this man I would never trade.  I love my husband dearly, but I  have always loved Mike since I met him in 1971.  I am just being wistful at the moment, I guess. 

I loved that movie, too!  Incredible quote - and how true it resonates!!!! I think we'd have had a blast, but he felt we missed our moment 30 years ago whereas I wanted to live in the present and try something totally new and exciting with a man I truly loved (and still do.........)

Reminds me of the line in 4 Weddings and A Funeral
when she says to him, after their night together:
"I think we both might've missed an extraordinary opportunity here."
