shows what an animal lover you are (to get a little upset about this post) don't they just tug at your hearts and win you over? My dog Charlie is still going....I know my heart is going to break one day but lets change subject

..... thank you for sharing your stories...I am sorry for your heartache too.

Awwwww....Damn it...Got my nose stinging, you did!
I feel like a little kid, here in my forties, every time I have to lose a dog. I remember my dog, Marty, disappearing one time when I was six. We found her a couple of days later, thank God -- trapped in a hole in the ground. A couple of years later though, when she disappeared, someone else found her -- she had been hit by a car. It was terrible.
But I don't think I could have forgiven anyone if they had given her away...

Lol...You poor love!! I know how you feel about your Bruno...I was seventeen years old when our Siberian Huskey, King, died. We'd had him since he was eight years old, but our landlord forced us to give him away because he claimed the dog was destroying the property.
Luckily, one of our neighbours was moving to a farm, and they offered to take King to live with them. I never saw him again...About a year later, my dad ran into the couple, and they told him that one morning just a few months before, they had found him dead in their barn. A few weeks before his death, they discovered a tumor on one of his hind legs.
I begged my parents not to send him away...Even my dad cried.
Oh, damn it, love...Now I'm crying....

That's so cruel to take a child's pet away. You and Bruno look like a good match to me. !!!

Hi SYMPHONY,
You two look like you were quite a sweet pair. I grew up with a dog myself, so I completely understand. When she was killed a few years ago, it was awful. We were heartbroken.

A beautiful dog. Dobermans are renowned for their devotion to family. Perhaps this dog was growing old and had ailments when you did meet up with him/her later on.

That's why I kept soft toys as pets when I was a child. Lol.
