Go to Religion in the Modern World

- Go to People claiming to be following the correct path always make me laugh
MandaLee -- I don't assume that people with differing religious views are
intent on showing disrespect.
You should re-read my last comment. What I said was that if someone is advancing a notion of religious exclusion (which is based on not sharing that person's beliefs) they are in effect showing a lack of respect towards that other person. This is quite a different assertion than how you have interpreted my comment.

Gome, How fair {or respectful} is it of you to assume that anyone who
has differing views from yours intends disrespect in doing so?
I respect you, and mean no offense or disrespect.

MandaLee - individuals presenting a religious perspective that excludes
everyone else in the world aside from those who believe as they do, are not being respectful of others. Not by a long shot. What they are doing, either intentionally or inadvertantly, is suggesting that they are superior to those who do not believe as they do. It's the catch 22 of all religious doctrine. Every religion advances the notion that they are the one true path to salvation. By simple extension, all others must be wrong. When someone tells me that I am wrong, even when they couldn't possible know any more than anyone else, how could I possibly view such an opinion as being respectful? For me, respect begins with the admission that nobody could possibly know what is the right path.

ceemarie53 - thank you for stopping bye
I'm glad you have little to compare my blog template to, that way you will not recognize how lame it is. This site (Blogit) has some enhanced blogs but in comparison to what is seen in the blogging world, there is little attention paid to doing this sort of thing. . . and it is so easy to do. My contention is that, while nothing will ever replace the time proven methods of interaction through commenting and catchy headlines to gain recognition for one's blog postings, an enhanced blog template will impact the reader enough that they will remember your blog.

Talion - considering that most people have the 1920's painting
by the Swedish artist imprinted in their minds, the one that depicts a blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus, there is no doubt that people would be dissapointed, if not shocked if they ever saw the real Jesus. Considering the region of the world that he came from, it is very likely that his features were Arabic and very unlikely that he was a caucasion.

Hello-
Took me long enough to visit you! I agree with your premise entirely! Too many people are speaking out of the sides (or was it corners?) of their mouths, I think my mother used to say. I like the look of your blog site, btw, but I'm new to it so no comparison to go by.

If you thought Jesus got crucified the first time, let him return not looking like that guy in all the pictures.

CrimsonCarouse -- thanks for stopping bye
It's been a full day since I received a comment on this posting. Ever since I changed the look of this blog with a new template, no one has been commenting. I knew it was garish looking but is it that bad?
