Road Runner is tops, but we had the same outages when the system
was new in our area, and when we were getting used to how to hook it up -- you know -- programming and stuff when we had to get a new computer because the old one couldn't handle the load.  We got a fast computer and a fast connection so now we're in hog heaven, so to speak....

Oh, the joys of civilization...though frustrating for you, it is comforting to know that I am not the only one who faces regular down time in cyberspace. I hope all is well soon! Blessings...

Keep track of all the time that
you are without sevice and pro rate it from your bill. Tell them that you don't think you should have to pay for sevice that was not available to you. Probably wont do any good, but it might get somebodies attention.

It's kind of like the phone company's answer to high-speed cable.  Lots of bandwith, and the line can carry both voice and data signals.  Like cable, the data signal is continuously connected.

Sounds like dealing with the cable folks.  Don't you hate being cut off from the world?

Hi! It's a digital subscriber line.....
supposedly better than dial up...although I am beginning to wonder.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but...

what's DSL?

I mean, I assume it's an internet connection ... but, what kind?  "Dial up"?
