CrimsonCarouse -- that's the less diplomatic truth but definately the truth
I am always amazed at some people's inability to assess their own behaviour with any form of objectivity.

Don't worry
those people weren't worth talking to anyway.

DrJPT -- you are another person where I am surprised that someone would
block you.
In the time that you have been on Blogit, IMHO you have been as well behaved as anyone here. I've never seen you ever make an innapropriate comment but as I have said before, there are some people that cannot handle an opposing viewpoint and some that lack the necessary abilities to communicate effectively in a public forum. I can only imagine what their lives are like.

I Have Been Blocked By at Least One
I was attacked and called by a few profane names last week! I agree that it is odd that people like you to listen to their views, yet refuse to listen to a view other than their own. It is childish! Thought provoking post!

blackcat30 - ultimately I think the block utility is a good thing
I had to use it myself once. It allows anyone using this forum a level of protection from harrassment. At the same time however, we have seen some people misuse it. Where we do not have the right as members to attempt to define how others blog or use this forum, some people have been rendered just downright silly with the ability to block someone.

Ariala -- we've talked about this before
In real life there are always a few people that are incapable of acceptable social behaviour. It shouldn't surprise us that we get a few of them in a public forum such as this but some of the antics and especially the convoluted reasoning behind these attempts at villification, do raise an eyebrow upon occassion.

Gomedome, you better thank your lucky stars I'm a lesbian troublemaker
and not some straight chic who likes muscular Canadian snake-handling men...
I did get a kick out of it after a while, just like I finally laughed at whiplash's attempts to put me down. Some of these people amuse me...

Ariala - so, how long have you been a troublemaking lesbian?
Sorry, I couldn't resist but the notion of someone filling in the blanks as they saw fit in an attempt to disparage you that way is hilarious. (though probably not at the time)

David1Spirit -- now that shocks me - You blocked? - a nice guy like you?
I'm also a little dissapointed that I am now a co-record holder for being blocked. I guess the blocking utility on this site does empower people to make a statement of what they think of others but like any tool that empowers, if used flippantly, it can be akin to giving hand grenades to chimpanzees.

Gome, LOL to the sanity test...I have learned a thing or two about
knuckleheads and they do test my resolve, but in the end, such people don't last in this place.

I am currently blocked by 4 bloggers
And none of them are here anymore. Which makes me feel pretty good that I am no longer doing whatever it is wrong that I used to. Not that I would know what that wrong might be, much less care.
But I have had the same experience as yourself where someone who has me blocked from commenting on their posts feel free to come onto my posts and blast away.

MandaLee - thank you -- that's the key really
Freedom of expression for all means that we will be upon occassion forced to acknowledge the rights of those whos "expression" we could live without and may disagree with totally. Some people do not understand this simple premise. They do not grasp the simple fact that as soon as we censure anyone, simply based on their opinion we in fact begin to restrict our own freedoms.

Ariala- I am surprised by some of the things you are forced to put up with
Much of which is inherent with being the number one blogger but still, engaging you in banter and using the mention of your blogging persona to get clicks is one thing (and maybe a fair tactic if it is done with a little class) but an all out campaign to smear you is crossing the line. Especially when your blog postings generally carry no ill will towards others. I guess we have to keep in mind that we are in a public forum. Only a credit card, a computer and a pulse is needed to become a member. A sanity test is not a requirement, though some days we wonder if it should be.

I was only blocked once and then this lady spent the rest of her time
posting lies about me. It was a matter of time until Blogit took care of her. I did learn I was actually a lesbian during that time...geez. Why didn't anyone inform me sooner?

Gomedome,
You are a nice person. I'm sorry that those who block you have the wrong atittude. While we may not agree, I fully support you in the free expression of your views. After all, isn't that what America is all about?

Xeno-x -- why anyone would block you I cannot understand
In the time that I have known you here, every last one of your comments has been of a civil nature. I've never seen you leave even an acidic or sarcastic comment, let alone something that would warrant a block. We've talked about this before, there are some people that do not want to hear opinions other than their own, while their are others that do not have a thick enough skin for the back and forth banter of a public forum. Then there are a few that are completely spun and would have trouble getting along with people in any social setting, real life or cyber world.

elysiafields - I can safely say that there are a few people that wish I
were invisible.
There is more than one common thread amongst those who have blocked me. They all wish to be heard but will not accept any form of disagreement with their perspectives, they are all fanatically fervant in their beliefs and they have never intelligently countered one of my contentions. Not one, instead they have all been happy to manufacture negative character assessments of me with absolutely nothing to base it on other than the contents of my postings. All of this stuff goes with the territory of posting other than traditional religious views from the perspective of a believer in this category. It is a given that some people will act this way but I wonder if they ever stop and realize just how childish they are? . . .not likely.

invisible hits
Yeah, they hit you, then they try to make you invisible by blocking you - but darling, they love you. They can't take their eyes off you . And so borrowing the helmet of invisibility from Hades, they sink from beneath the horizon of your awareness, and observe you from an underground hideaway.
But seriously, I'm dying to know who's hitting my pages.
If only they would leave a quick note saying "I (moniker) was here!"
Sigh. Life is full of mystery.
