isn't it neat?  I received it in an email from one of my Dad's WWII crew members.  I've never been to the North Pole but sometimes it felt that cold growing up in Minn.!

Nanar,

That is an incredible picture.  Someone spent a lot of time setting up for that.

Do you know any of the technical details about photographic medium, camera, lenses, etc.?  I always have a mad desire to know all of the details behind the photograph.  Time of day and date would also be very interesting.  Pictures like that require tons of planning.  The tale behind the photograph would be as enthralling as the photograph itself.

A very incredible shot.  The planning for it, all by itself, makes that kind of shot a North Face of the Eiger, summit of Everest, once in a lifetime thing.

...fantastic!
...one of my other obsessions is astrology... most of the time it's just degrees of this or that from the computer or the ephemeris... photos like you just shared and pics from Astronmy magazine remind me to go ride out to the high desert or Big Bear where you can actually see... and maybe even feel the energies of these heavenly bodies... thanks for the Moon, North Pole pic, and the others as well, M.

Thank you for sharing.....I've never seen anything so.....words completely escape me.....and, that is a very rare occurrence!......I really don't think there are words to describe the beauty of something and you're right.....to be standing there taking it in.......it makes my soul sigh.....
