that's so cool that you got to see all those places!  I think memories from those younger ages stay deeper in the brain somehow...

When I was a kid, we used to drive down to California in our family station wagon for several summers.  Great memories!  The Grapevine Mountains, the seacoast,  San Clemente, Palomar Observatory, Capistrano, Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland.   Magical memories.  I was in San Francisco two and a half years ago and had another great time.  Even checked out Alcatraz.   That's a nice picture.  Takes me right back.

There's no place like home!  There's no place like home!  There's no place like home (by the sea).

RckyMtn
thanks-we're lucky to have both the ocean and mountains nearby- today we're going to drive our motorcycles to the mountains!

Nan....

I loved your story and photo.  I so miss the ocean.  I love living in the mountains but at least every couple of years I have to get myself to the ocean.  The last time my husband and I went to Oregon, we were a few miles from the coast and I could smell the salt air.  I know what you mean. Have a great Sunday!

I can smell that salt air!!!
Very lovely! I feel the same way about the ocean.

Yes, as I close my eyes I can smell the salt and feel the sun!
Maybe I should keep them closed awhile and enjoy it; cuz when I wake up I am back in Michigan!
