Thanks for your coment , Straightforward
This post was put in to illustrate how both marriages happened within a couple of years of each other, and how w both married and committed to the less than perfect match ups.  How we both settled for decisions we made.  We both were in love with different components of our respective mates, apparently strong enoungh for us to overlook the shortcomings.  You gave me a good idea to add this explanation to the ending to wrap it all together.  You're right!  Thank you!

Hi Maggie!
I've wondered about the same thing to be honest.  Mike also is quite prolific with  his words and so much of our correspondence was via e-mail.  We fell for each other's minds and command of language first and foremost.  Honestly I think we'd have been perfectly imperfect together but our timing was off when we both decided to get married.  You know, this is where I think God more than likely played a major role.  My Grandpa had PD.  Mike's Grandpa had PD.  Who knows but our children may have been doomed to lives of PD.  The genetic research is exploding in this area.  Otherwise we are so compatible.

Cee, neither you, nor Mike should have been married to the present spouses,

but who is to say that you and Mike could have survived a long-term marriage to each other either?  Maybe the love between you and Mike, at this stage, was so "hot" because it was stolen.

Who knows, huh?

brettnik, that will be the topic of this blog. What made me stray after
being loyal for so long? What happened that we should return to our longtime spouses?  Hopefully I will answer that question for my own peace of mind as well...........we'll see.  Thank for leaving your comment!

Wow!
Mysteries of the universe.  That's so incredible.  And I assume that you're both now happy in your relationships.  Being married is hard, hard work.  There are times when it seems better to throw in the towel.  I don't know that I'd have survived what you all did.  I don't know exactly why you both returned to your spouses.
