Suspension of disbelief
There's a term in literature called "the suspension of disbelief". You have to "go along" with the artist and trust a certain bit. That "bit" varies from person to person.
I couldn't go along far enough with "Crash". There were just too many coincidences, piled atop one another, for me to buy into it. It was just too implausible.
But the performances were great. I especially liked the black TV producer (his wife was roughed up and later saved by Matt Dillon). He is in "Hustle and Flow" about a pimp who wants to go legit as a rapper.
PS: Any movie that threatens my favorite (Walk the Line) will be savaged.

Great movie
very sad but at the same time hopeful. Each of the characters learned something new about themselves and their prejudices or lack of them. Most of the lessons were positive even if only in a very small way and there were some big sacrifices necessary by some for others to become a bit more enlightened.
