RckyMtnActivist -- me too - when I flip onto the religious channel, it is
for a laugh usually but there is a bit of curiosity as to how much "thought pollution" these people are spewing. In comments here and in the past, I have had people suggest that I do not watch these things but that is easier said than done. In the case I cite here, I am on the list (in about 3 places) as an enemy of God. When any group, no matter how crazy they are declares as their enemies groups that include you, it is only human nature to keep an eye on them.

mysteria - I fully agree - We are at a time in our history where we must
revisit tax exempt status for churches. No congregating group of any type, can survive without some form of fundraising and membership drives, but how often have we seen these areas of activity completely abused by so called religous groups?

Gome.....

I enjoyed this post.  I too sometimes watch the religious channels, I want to know what mistruths those idiots are spewing. It's amazing some of the things that come out of their mouth.  And I swear when they panned the audience all I saw were a bunch of sheep!

Bud-Oracle -- I have praying for enlightenment on my list of things to do
It comes right after jumping out of an airplane with an umbrella as a parachute. Or I could start my own religion and make my own list of people to declare as enemies of God but that's lower on the list.

You are asking a question that has no answer in logic. The only way
that you might recieve an answer wil be if you truly believe and pray hard that you might be enlightened.

sannhet -- that is true but why must we give these idiots airtime?
Like when do we step back and realize that promoting hatred for anyone or any group does not get a pass just because some lunatic has wrapped it up in a religious message?

Gome -
It's pretty easy for the Pat Robertsons of the world to exist when there are so many who do not think for themselves.

JanesOpinion - Your comment cracked me up
I haven't heard the term "Doofus" in awhile.....possibly 30 years.

You doofus, Gome, you really need to stay away from that danged

channel.

Like the verse in the Proverbs: "avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it and pass away."  (I think it's 4:15, KJV).  OK?  So next time your fingers push the wrong buttons on the remote control, keep on going, say, perhaps to Fox News?  You get that channel now, right??

G
Yeah, and by the logic, God would be the Anti-Christ...

Xeno-x --- that's it completely
The inevitable result of demanding conformity of belief becomes the compartmentalization of those who will not accept compromise. If it goes on as long as the major religions have been guilty of this, then you get exactly what they have created and as you say; they have their own world, it's them versus everyone else.

elysiafields - that's good
It's a romp in around the circumference of traditional thought but it is not circuituous logic by any means. It actually jives. Should I phone up the guy that was on TV last night and tell him to amend his list?

enemies of God, eh?
Now there's a can of worms. The body of Judaism made God in its image, fufilling a promise to be a light unto the people.  That promise was fufilled when the western world embraced monotheism, with the God of the Jews being the only and true God. Jesus Christ, a Jew, broke away from Jewish law, in order to bring Gentiles into the fold of the Loving Father.

Since the Israelites, and namely the Jews, made God in their own image, then by extention, they are God. Since Christ did not reflect back to his own people, and therefore his own God, a reflection that conformed with their docterine, then Jesus Christ himself, could be considered to be an enemy of God - as well as a son of God.

Oi, the paradoxes!

bhey live in them.

and they cannot see outside of their worlds.
