Good post.  When evolution was taught in my sixth grade class I had some confusion.  I asked my dad how evolution and the bible's creation story could be true at the same time.  Evolution seemed to contraditct the bible's creation story.  Dad told me that evolution did not have to disprove the bible.  He explained that the bible is not always meant to be taken literally.  It was possible that God created human beings over thousands of years using experiementation.  It sounds like these modern day scientists/believers are using the same technique.  Now I've pretty much discarded the creation story.  It has become another myth.

kooka_lives -- I'm absolutely shocked by the veil of ignorance that some
elements of modern day religion are trying to impose on the rest of society. Ask any one of the most vocal of this group and they like to respond with terms describing evolution as an "accident" or the big bang theory as an "explosion in space". In other words, they do not have even a remote clue as to what they are opposed to but the funniest part is found in the origins of the Big Bang Theory. One of it's primary authors of this theory was a man named Georges Lemettre . . . he was a priest.
