I have a sister who is totally obsessed with her looks, makeup etc. and she is very difficult to be around.  I've always thought that she does this to avoid looking at herself on the inside.

Symphony...RckyMtnActivist said it best....
I do think that a little enhancement can give one improved self-confidence and that can really help a soul, but like you say, when it's adding more inches to boobs and stuff like that, well, it's foolish...

We are such a shallow society Symph...
...I get upset sometimes when I see that I am aging...but it's just 'seeing' it...inside I still feel young.

Symphony.....
I agree with you that it is our inner beauty that is important, however in our society too much emphasis is placed on looks.  Sometimes because of someone's lack of outer beauty they never get to see the inner beauty.  Great post!

Symphony,
I agree with you, if we don't accept ourselves, it doesn't matter to what extent, we will change our body, we'll be unhappy.

SYMPHONY
Nothing is to be gained by changing the outer, when it is how one perceives herself to look. I agree with this totally. I think a woman is much more beautiful when she overlooks her flaws and accepts herself.
