Apparently, it's a sculpture of some sort, Ariala.

hahaha, what is that thing?

There's absolutely nothing untoward about rubbernecking, FoF
It's like my favorite pastime.

Eeewww.
What the hell IS that? And WHY do I look? It's like rubbernecking I suppose...

While I agree Lucas definitely waited too long...

(in fact, I don't think he should have even been the director on the new films) ...

However, I thought that the little boy (whose "acting" ground every single scene he was in, to a screeching halt) did far more damage to "The Phantom Menace" than Jar Jar's nominal presence ever could.

MPO,
Jar Jar Binks was so annoying.  I thought that it was a really over-the-top and not evenly thinly disguised "product tie-in" planted, just like the nauseatingly cute Ewoks.  I agree with my boyfriend, that Lucas waited WAY too long to release sequels. He could have skipped a few of the technical details and just put something out without waiting til most of his fans were too old to care!

You're right, Blanche...

it does sorta look like Jar Jar Binks!  I don't remember ever seeing him naked though.

Btw, I am not ashamed to say that I was perhaps the only person on the face of the Earth, who did not absolutely loathe that character.

MPO,
I didn't know what to make of this when I first saw it, just thought it was distubing in an oddly anthropomorphic way, and sort of like Jar Jar Binks, now that I clicked on the link, I'm stilll confused as to what it's supposed to be, and kinda grossed out that it's partly made ouf human hair.

You know, actually, the more I stare at her...

the more transfixed by her I become.  I find her oddly charming.

A very fitting description, Freelancer

That sounds fair, abhilasha.

I'm fairly sure the pic has not been adjusted, Ben...
though, I can't be 100% certain.

It's a very provocative piece, MPO. The sculptor is certainly saying something about man and nature and nurture, but I'm not sure what. Everything is an uneasy cross between dog and human, even the sofa-cum-dogbed. The dog/baby isolated is quite distressing. I'd like to read the sculptor's blurb on this one. I understood Tracey Emin once I'd listened to her and read about her.

I'm not sure there is a single word for it...

I can think of quite a few, actually.

I just can't wait for my mother to see this!  One time, I tricked her into looking at an autopsy photo ( http://www.rotten.com )

She still hasn't forgiven me.

It is very interesting, is that the word you think? Interesting, hmmm?

posted by anglofinspirtion on February 19, 2006 at 11:21 PM | link to this | reply

That's a very good question, anglofinspirtion...

and the answer is ...

I have no fucking clue.

My theory is it's some sort of "dog lady".

However, my brother believes it to be a "pig woman".

And, unfortunately, there's no one else here right now (to break the tie).
