I think putting that particular mystery blogger "to rest"...

is a victory not only for me, but for everyone involved with the game, Ann.

Oh, I wouldn't dream of it, PassionFlower!

I make no judgements on other people's beliefs (provided they are not hurting anyone else).

I'm not actually a Scientologist, though ... I was merely expressing their point of view, because it is so often misinterpreted and/or ridiculed (in the media).

Thanks for being informative without trying to shove
Your religious views down anyone's throat. I've noticed that many religious writers think theres is the ONLY ONE and it's their mission to bang the rest of us in the head with their beliefs. ..LOL!

Beck's cute, too ...

So is Catherine Bell for that matter ... in fact, I'm comfortable enough in my heterosexuality to say I would totally try to do her.

P.S. I'll have to delete this comment before morning ... if my mother read it she'd completely freak out: "So, you're a lesbian now?!"

posted by Mademoiselle on February 16, 2006 at 9:26 PM | link to this | reply

I put some stock in Beck. Scientology actually isn't incompatiable with
being a Christian.  I read their web site about a year ago.  It was a good web site.

I think she sees herself ...

only half her age ... and twice as pretty.

No, in all seriousness, my mother is an extremely attractive woman (God knows everyone says so enough) ... which, btw, is the entire extent of her "positive traits".

Oh and, stay on topic!

MPO...Well, if your mom is anything like mine...
She sees what she wants to see in you, and is blind to the rest.  Which, in my case means my mom dosen't know me very welll.

Actually, my mother says ...
no one is a bigger smartass than I am ... or, a "know-it-all" ... or, a "spoiled brat" ... or, a bitc... well, you get the idea.

all knowledge has value, even if it's trivial.

element of truth
Don't you think that all major, and minor religions for that matter, have an element of truth to them, otherwise people wouldn't find meaning in them?  It just seems to me to dismiss any belief system as "all wrong" is nieve.  If it were all wrong no one would believe in it.

I'm partial to the Koran myself, Layla.

I do not practice the faith, Bud...

although after looking into it, I feel less convinced it is entirely without merit than I did before.

Thanks for reading.

Thank you, B
Many important people (not just crazy ones like Tom Cruise) swear by it ... in a couple seconds, I will amend the post to include the list of "notables" (which even includes FOX News Channel's own Greta Van Susteren).

You've done a nice job, MPO--

M.P.O., we must be on a mind meld or something!

At about the exact moment that you posted this I was walking on Hastings Street downtown, Vancouver.

I crossed the street going north, right past the Scientology store front. What was going through my mind was this, 'these bunch of scammers are still at it? Wow, and the reallestate is expensive here. Wonder if the whole global thing is still happening?' Honest to Ron L. !

Thanks for answering all those questions and more. Do you practice the faith?

To me anything that takes away a free self directed search smacks of fraud.

One man's ideas, strictly adhered to, allows no room for personal insight and produces dangerous followers. I just don't want my wisdom to come from one source. John Travolata not withstanding.

That method has done some good for some people according to testimonies written here and elsewhere. It was interesting reading.

MPO "ATHF"???

posted by Captain_Gulliver on February 16, 2006 at 1:26 PM | link to this | reply

That is a great line...

Oh and, I would also add the episode where Phil Collins was conspiring with the school district to give all the students Prozac so they would tolerate his crappy music.

Btw, anyone who has yet to experience the sheer brilliance that is "ATHF" ... MUST find a way to do so post haste!  (FYI: the first few seasons are on DVD.)

posted by Mademoiselle on February 16, 2006 at 1:24 PM | link to this | reply

MPO LMAO

Yes, I've seen both of those.  This past season my favorite was the one where Kyle and Cartman broke the beaver dam and flooded the town of Beaverton Co, causing hundreds of people to be stranded on their rooftops.  It was great.  The classic line from that episode was, "We know who's fault it is that the beaver dam broke.  It's George Bush's fault!"

LOL...coming in second place for the title of "The Best Line From South Park" also comes from that episode was when the town met to discuss the ramifications of the broken dam and it was concluded that global warming caused it, and it would hit...The Day After Tomorrow.  Until a scientist rushed in and told everyone that his calculations were off and that global warming would hit two days BEFORE the day after tomorrow...

"Oh my God...That's...TODAY!  WE DIDN'T LISTEN!!!"

Sorry...if you had wanted a conversation on South Park, you would have posted it.  :-)

Seriously, Layla, it's not that bad a religion...
(as religions go) ... I mean, I'm not trying to recruit people or anything ... just set the facts a little straighter.  There's a lot of misinformation out there.

My favorite South Park was the one...

where they are attempting to return "The Lord of the Rings" (which is actually a porno tape) to the video store.

I also love the one where Christopher Reeve (RIP) has secretly discovered a way to regain his legs ... if people haven't seen that one I won't give it away ... but, the process was totally distasteful.

It IS an interesting...uh..."religion."

Thanks for enlightening us!!!

I feel so close to John Travolta right now!!!  :-) Ha!

Everything I know about Scientology...

I learned from South Park.  Of course, much of what I know about politics, current events and social commentary comes from South Park or Team America.

relax...I'm kidding.  I don't just get my information from South Park.  I read the New York Times too, and that's just as funny.
