I think most of us have endured that type of thing...
Why does it only seem to happen in the middle of the night??

i had a friend
living in LA during the rodney king days.  he and his buddy had an apartment on the skirts of the worst rioting area.  they would sit in the livingroom drinking beer, watching it come closer and closer.  one day the smoke alarm went off.  they'd hit the reset button and moments later it would go off again.  they finally realized if the alarm was going off it meant the fires were close and it was time to go.

Those things can be rather persnickety--and why is it, do you suppose, that the battery only runs low in the middle of the friggin' night?

Whacky
It can give you a start when they go off. I'm glad that you only needed batteries, instead of the fire department.

Happy Valentines Day.
sounds like a crappy way to start it.  I find batteries are one of those rare products where it actually matters what brand you buy.
