Pittypat, I understand where you are coming from. It is
not easy to lose your parents -- I lost my Father in Dec. 2002 after being in a coma for 100 days, and my mother died in Feb. 2004.   Yes we too belive that Mom probably would not been able to handle the surgery and recovery.   The woman in the church 85 years old and is truly a remarkable woman!

Not everyone does as well as the lady that you know that has had two successful hip surgeries.  My aunt has had two hip replacement surgeries and has had nothing but trouble.  She is now completely bedridden.  She has no children.  Her husband died years ago.  She refused to stay in a nursing home, so her sister-in-law goes over to check on her once a day and prepare her food for her.  Her life is far from enjoyable.  She has constant pain.  The Lord in all His wisdom evidently knew that your mother would not do as well as the other lady you know.  God knows best.  I am sure you would not have wanted your mother to suffer the way my aunt has suffered.  I lost my mother in 2001, and then my dad in 2002.  That was the hardest thing I have had to go through in my entire life.  But, God knows best, and we must leave these things in His hands.  My mother was diabetic and had a heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure.  It just about killed me when she reached the point that she did not know me.  My dad died with pulmonary fibrosis.  He didn't even know he had it.  The doctors had treated him for years for allergies, and had misread his x-rays.  Losing your parents is very hard, but when you know that they were serving the Lord and were ready to meet Him, it makes that time in your life a little easier to go through.  Thank God that some day soon we will see Jesus, and all our loved ones who had accepted Him as their saviour.
